The One Place You Should Go in Boston

If you ever happen to visit Boston, this is the one place you should go.

The Museum of Fine Arts.

I just went there today and it was amazing. Even if you're not into art, you still won't regret going to this museum.

They have both art and artifacts, and it made me wonder- is there really any difference between the two? Artifacts ARE art.

And this museum has plenty of both. The Egyptian exhibit is astounding. Here are some things you will see there:

This thing is ginormous.

What's amazing about this exhibit is how everlasting the artifacts are. Most of them are completely ancient, and if that's not amazing I don't know what is.

Another wing features instruments of various kinds.

This picture ⬆️ above is the most intricate thing I have ever seen and the photo does it no justice at all. In the hollowed space, there is a carving with multiple layers.

Miscellaneous paintings and others.

Pablo Picasso.

There were many Jackson Pollocks.

Made with over 2000 individual pieces of glass and weighing 10,000 pounds.

Then there's the Nigerian exhibit. These artifacts truly speak for themselves.

Unfortunately, I was only there for a couple of hours and couldn't see everything- all this is a mere sampling. If you do visit, you should set aside 4-5 hours to go more in depth and see more.

The Museum of Fine Arts is astounding, humbling, and beautiful. Visit this place if you ever have the blessed opportunity to do so.

This museum looks like fun! I'm more of an American history person than I ever was, as of lately.

With that being said, as much as I want to travel, I've never had an urge to go to Boston, or the New England states in general. I do eventually want to visit all 50 states (plus the District of Columbia), but I would do short visits with the New England states.

With Boston specifically, I heard the weather is unpleasant (too rainy, and humid), the people are rude, the city is still very racist as a whole (from what I've heard), and to be honest, I don't hear of many entertaining things to do in the city. I respect its deep history, but I can't see myself staying there for more than a day to be honest.

I do want to visit Fenway Park (and all 30 MLB stadiums for that matter), since the Red Sox have been a second-favorite team for me, and I love the history of the stadium. Fenway Park is the second-most stadium I want to visit (right behind Wrigley Field).

Interesting things you heard about Boston. The weather has its ups and downs, the traffic is bad, but not racist.

Anyway, I guess I would have to give it a visit for myself.

Haven't been to the Art Museum. I have been to the New England Aquarium many times as well as a few other museums, I think one was a Natural History.
Have you been to the Boston Public Library? Its like stepping into a time machine.
I am mostly in Andover when I go to Boston so going to the main city is difficult.

The best museums I've been to are:

The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco

The Rijks Museum in Amsterdam, Holland.

I also liked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii (if you can call it a museum I suppose).

The Panzer Tank Museum in Germany - Deutsches Panzermuseum

I'm interested in one of the older and much smaller museums, as it's the setting for a book trilogy I have on the back burner to write.

In part 3, there's also a jailbreak scene in one chapter, but I don't know how to even begin arranging a safe tour to study the layout for that building, so I may have to fudge the architecture for that scene.

I went to Boston once and one of the highlights of the whole trip was this awesome homeless dude banging on a plastic container and singing about ass and tits. This guy should be a national treasure. Anyone who goes to Boston should seek him out.

i went to boston a few months ago around the end of April when there was a marathon. i bought a "3 day boston GO" coupon from groupon. com that allowed me to visit A LOT of places for just one price and it was totally worth it!

I will. I recommend going to the little shops on Faneuil hall, personally. They have a unique array of funny pictures and the pewter statues are really neat.
