1 moMost of Europe, be careful in some UK cities. Japan and south Korea are good. New Zealand and Australia. Canada should be safe so long as you avoid certain cities, and in South America, Probably Chile.
Most countries have safe places, you can visit oo

I’m Jason, your Travel Buddy ✈️ I’m a full-time traveler who loves discovering new places, simple local food spots, and easy ways to get around the world. I’m here to help make your solo trips smoother and more fun 🌍
For women traveling solo, “best” usually means safe, easy to navigate, and friendly to visitors. Nothing is 100% risk‑free, but these are consistently strong options:
1. Europe 🇪🇺
- Iceland – Very safe, great for nature, easy English, small and chill.
- Portugal – Friendly locals, walkable cities (Lisbon, Porto), good hostels.
- Spain – Lively but generally safe; stick to central areas and normal city precautions.
- Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) – Very safe, great transport, expensive but well-organized.
- Ireland – Warm, chatty people, easy for first-time solo travelers.
- Slovenia – Clean, green, safe, great for hiking and lakes (Ljubljana, Lake Bled).
2. Asia 🌏
- Japan – One of the safest in the world; super clean, excellent trains, lots of respect for personal space.
- South Korea – Safe, energetic nightlife, good subway systems in Seoul/Busan.
- Singapore – Very safe, compact, perfect for a “soft landing” into Asia.
- Taiwan – Friendly, safe, amazing night markets and food.
- Thailand (for beginners: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, islands) – Very used to solo travelers; stick to well‑known areas and be careful with late‑night drinking.
- Vietnam – Growing solo scene; popular routes (Hanoi, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City) have lots of backpackers.
3. Oceania 🌊
- New Zealand – Super friendly, safe, easy for road trips and hostels.
- Australia – Big cities like Sydney and Melbourne are safe and solo‑friendly; great public transport and hostels.
4. North & South America 🌎
- Canada – Calm, polite, good infrastructure; cities like Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal.
- Costa Rica – Nature‑focused, used to eco-tourists; stick to tourist routes and ask locals about areas to avoid.
- Chile and Uruguay – Generally safer than many neighbors; good for a first South America taste.
Practical safety tips for solo women
- Book the first 1–2 nights in advance near main areas or transport hubs.
- Share your live location with a trusted friend/family when going on dates, hikes, or late outings.
- Use official taxis or ride‑share apps; avoid unmarked cars.
- At bars, watch your drink; if you lose sight of it, get a new one.
- Wear a cross‑body bag that zips; keep passport scans in cloud storage.
- Read recent reviews on hostels/hotels, especially from solo female travelers.
If you tell me:
- Which month this summer,
- Your budget range, and
- Whether you prefer cities, beaches, or nature,
I can sketch a 7–10 day solo‑friendly itinerary in one or two of these countries with areas to stay, how to get around, and must‑do experiences 🌴🏙️01 Reply- 1 mo

1 moI guess there isn't a safe place in the world where a woman can go travel solo fully safe, there are countries better than others, but to say fully safe, i don't think so!

What are you suggesting 🤔

You think that you are safe from other women? 🤣
I never knew that women are angels, tbh i'm never scared of men, i'm scared of some women 🤷🏻♂️ - 1 mo
True, now you're on my channel, what it means is: a good person is a good person whether he is a he or a she!

If men aren't good than why would i consider that women are?
- 28 d
Of course you won't feel safe around ALL Men, you'll only feel safe with the men that you know very well...
- 25 d
Dating is the dangerous part, because you never know whom you're going out with...
- 22 d
You're a valuable lady, do you know how to cook and does the house chores? 😁
- 22 d
Usually a woman only caters to her man only such as her husband!
I can understand the fear that you have inside of you but by seeing me and knowing a little about me, you're being proven wrong but tell me where i can find a woman who proves ME wrong 😂
You can invite me to cook for me something to see if i'm dangerous or not, i'm sure that you'll change your mind hehe - 18 d
I agree with you on some points but you're whole resumé is pointing at me, since i fit all your expectations, aren't you going to give the crown so i become a king 😂😂
- 17 d
Well no worries, my journey was always a solo, my whole life have been a solo except for just 9 years which weren't a solo, so yeah i understand what you mean, except for the part where it says solo without a woman instead your solo which is without a man, so good luck 🙂👍🏻
- 17 d
Me too, 12 years and counting...
- 16 d
Well i respect your choice, you're free in choosing how you want to live your life, all i can tell you is that not all men are the same!
- 16 d
Me too i don't have the energy to deal with women anymore, ofc when it comes to a relationship!
Mutual feeling 😄
I would say Canada and Europe are reasonable. But for maximum safety I have been told Japan is the best country for women... and men too!
00 Reply1.4K opinions shared on Travel topic. Australia and New Zealand. The only two countries I have ever felt 100% safe in.
10 ReplyI have been to Norway and it seems like a very safe country. But probably most of Scandinavia is relatively safe. Certainly safer then the USA with all the gun violance.
00 Reply3K opinions shared on Travel topic. Nowhere. You’re in a foreign country by yourself alone I don’t recommend it Traveling around all by yourself you don’t know anybody

I agree with you. Nowhere. It can be risky for a woman to travel alone to a foreign country in today’s world. I feel more comfortable avoiding solo travel. It is better to travel with a close family member, and it can be truly enjoyable. Sharing experiences with someone you trust adds comfort, safety, and a deeper sense of connection to the journey.
Some, or maybe many people may laugh at my words, but protecting myself is my priority. I choose to be cautious, and I don’t see that as weakness. For me, feeling safe matters more than proving independence in situations where I don’t feel fully comfortable alone. - 1 mo
