Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian all sporting those sparkly Team USA leotards; these girls got eight custom-fit uniforms for the competition.
The gymnasts get more fittings for their uniforms than a bridal fitting, about 3 or more times they are fit since there isn't just one standard size. Since they all have unique bodies and the women have to be comfortable, the designers use new high tech fabric that won't move when athletes run or flip, so they can perform to the best of their ability. It's important that everything fits perfectly for the gymnasts on competition day.
(We're thinking the same thing!)
Now these unis are covered in about 5,000 Swarovski crystals which aren't going to be cheap...
Under Armour is the maker behind the uniforms but don't give them all of the credit because a company in PA called GK Elite is the one with all the bling. Taking two years to design, they think the uniforms in the 2016 Olympics have hit peak crystal, while costing $1,200 each. But all this sparkle is a good thing, in a huge stadium the small girls doing their routines will stand out, because the 5,000 crystals shining in the light make them stand out.
Gymnastics being one of the most watched events in the Olympics, the girls have to look good!
I love the team's uniforms, as they make the girls look so smooth, especially when they are killing it in their routines. I'm Team USA Proud! But I don't know about paying for those uniforms... and it's crazy because they aren't the only athletes who had some expensive gear for the Olympics! I'll just continue to watch :) Who else is in love with Team USA's blingy uniforms????!!

Just cut the word "Literally" out of your vocabulary. You neither now nor ever will understand or use the word with it's proper meaning.
Kindly learn the language or sit there in silence and let the adults dominate the conversation.
That's fucking hilarious 😂, although it's actually the one time it is actually being used correctly
@Other_Tommy_Wiseau OP was using it both figuratively and literally, she needs to just not use the word and save herself the confusion.
Plebians.
