Nope... About 4.5% of the US population (~6% of white population) identify as being of Slavic decent when questioned on a census (real numbers are likely higher). In WWI and to some extent WWII Slavic peoples were generally allied to the USA. We had a quarrel with Eastern Slavs during the cold war due to the U. S. S. R. but we wanted the people to be freed and for the Berlin wall torn down and it eventually did come down in 1990. The USA intervened in Kosovo in the late 90s to bring peace to a region inhabited by southern Slavs. What do you want from us? We've historically been there for you throughout modern history and many Slavs immigrated to the USA to avoid religious persecution or to escape communism over the years.

In UK maybe but there is a reason, one reason people voted leave in Brexit was that poles and other Eastern Europeans were doing jobs in cheaper salaries which made them more tempted to hire by business and companies so the Brits who already were hating on the Muslims for the same reason wanted them out or stop more from coming in. So that could be count as slavophobia. My opinion on the slavs is that I feel little ashamed for my ancestors (I'm part Berber/arab who enslaved a lot of South Slavs).
I highly doubt most Europeans or Americans could tell the difference between a Slav and a Western European or an American. I've got Slavic blood and have never been discriminated against because of it. I would say that vast majority of people in the present consider a European a European regardless if their Western or Slavic. I highly doubt a good chunk of the population could even define Slav.
i voted yes - but that first video was too violent for me to enjoy - it seemed to almost glorify violence and slavic power - I don't believe in violence on any front - not even on the side that is morally right. The second video wasn't good either - they should teach little children to swear to make an interesting video.
Seems to be a lot of stuff that's anti eastern European countries mostly to do with politics and immigration

Only in liberal areas. Most slavophobia nowadays is based on the fact that Slavic countries are very conservative.
However if you ask someone with conservative views about their opinion on Slavic countries, they’ll usually express admiration for them. Slavic countries could care less about “political correctness” and are very proud of their cultures.Look of all people I think slavs should be really careful when talking about being the victims of racism and genocide. Considering the holocaust was around 75 years ago but ethnically slavic Serbians committed genocide against muslim bosniaks less than 25 years ago. So it goes both ways
Well, since you're no longer communists and it no longer appears that we are destined to incinerate each other in a nuclear Holocaust, most of us actually think well of you. Furthermore, you're the only part of Europe presently resisting your own invasion. Much respect; you are truly the children of Byzantium and the last of the lions of Europe. We seem to like most of the same things...
Except techno, what's up with all the goddamn techno?the germans were jelly maybe, of the Slav Superiority... or maybe they simply went to an all out rampage destroying everyone around... but there is a reason for this paranoia, because of the Slavic multi state and the largest population of a single ethnos on the planet?
I am in favor of the pan Slavic optionNo, the average man in the street would have to have it explained to him what a Slav was, and which countries were Slavic.
It might be on the rise amongst liberals, though. Those blasted Slavs and their traditional family values, etc.I'm not sure if it's on the rise. Some people have those views but most people I know including myself have Polish friends.
I have no knowledge of it being on the rise there has always been some animosity towards slavics... It is no coincidence that their name is a derivative of the word slave...
The present day animosity isn't particularly racially motivated though it is more in regards geopolitical and economic reasonsI'm part Ukrainian ( mixed with Hungarian from my mothers side ) and we have large Polish populations here , one of my daughters best mates is a Polska. No Slavphobia here , they tend to work hard and do their best to fit in with the rest of the population , unlike certain other groups !!
A lot of Slavs are Muslim especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina and southern Bulgaria. And America and Europe hate Muslims.
Likely lots of jews wrapped in there too. Nazi's were definitely warped.
I personally don't like Slavs very much but I don't think there is a general tendency towards slavophobia in Western Europe or America.
Slavophobia?
Honestly first I heard of it but you are right about the nazis during world war 2 - Maybe it all got sidetracked by the inter fighting in the Balkans
I don't understand why "bigotry against X" is called "X-phobia". Anyone care to explain?
It's been prevalent here in non-Slavic Eastern Europe since we got our freedom from the CCCP
i haven't heard anything on this one... im partially german, does that make me... i mean... wait... after all these years.. i can be oppressed and triggered? Yeahhhhhhh!!!
I'm not sure. I'm living in a Slavic country right now, so I haven't noticed anything here. In the US, where I lived, I'm sure most people couldn't tell you what a Slav is. So I don't know.
Slavophobia is definitely on the rise if you look at places like Canada Alberta you can find accounts of shit from the kkk and if you look at what Greece is rn and brexit it doesn’t paint a beautiful picture from where I am nobody cares as I live in Milwaukee but there are lots of stereotypes and other shit on media and with a lack of representation It feels like being made fun of but then people saying it doesn’t exist it’s just insulting
It's just a shame that we have to even ask these questions- but I digress. If someone calls me a "cheap bohunk" I take it as a compliment.
I don't think so, the only phobia there is, is probably against people like Putin since you're never certain what they're up to on their way to getting more power :-(
