Controversial Radio talk show host Don Imus dead at 79? Did you ever listen to him? Especially New Yorkers?

I only heard of him. Never heard of his broadcasts though.
But I remember Wolfman Jack
Robert Weston Smith, known as Wolfman Jack (January 21, 1938 - July 1, 1995), was an American disc jockey. Famous for his gravelly voice, he credited it for his success, saying, "It's kept meat and potatoes on the table for years for Wolfman and Wolfwoman.
Do you remember Jean Shepherd as well
Yes and a matter a fact. Every Christmas a local radio station re-broadcasts his Christmas show every year.
I just happened to find it on the internet.

he's the same guy who wrote A Christmas Story
I used to listen to him over 20 years ago, because the local radio station broadcasted his show. He was kind of entertaining. He did say some crazy stuff that got him in trouble over 10 years ago and I think he dropped in popularity at that time.
He was somewhat entertaining he always kinda looked like he was half asleep
I remember way back in the Bill Clinton days, he gave some sort of talk at a dinner that hosted the Clintons. He tried to crack some sort of sexual joke at the event and everyone was just blown away and no one found it funny. I don't recall if this was during or after Clinton was president.
One nappy headed hoe in the comments who has a diploma, who is also smart and has been to very prestigious expensive private school. A whore I am not
R. I. P. Don Imus.
I used to switch between him & Howard Stern just to find out if they were my cup of tea.

I’m Irish and was never familiar with this presenter, but I’m sure I would’ve admired him just for being controversial alone, assuming he triggered the liberals 😆 RIP 💀🙏🏻
He was kinda far right like to the point of racist
@smahala1991 Maybe the racism is a bit extreme, but my favourite radio presenter here mocks liberals too, but is still a sensible conservative (not racist or sexist, etc, just calls people out on their ridiculous identity politics)
Don Imus was REALLY racist, at one point was fired for making a racist remark and used a racial slur about black college women's basketball players on air.
Others consistently attested that he was a virulent racist
Fuck yeah!! WFAN @@ My entire childhood working in a family owned Italian deli! That was the only station on in the deli, everyone loved sportd... before the internet, satellite radio , camera phones, online dating etc
I lived in Tennessee and he came on our local talk station every morning. And on MSNBC
Now he's in heaven playing basketball with some nappy headed hoes.
Lol, he put down people all the time, but once he called Black Women Hoes then the Mainstream Media lost their minds. Those Black Women are still hoes.
I never listen or even heard of him , first time to hear about him.
Never heard of him, but these days people seem to think "controversial" is just the politically correct term for racist..
He was an annoying asshole but I think that's why people liked him.
Yea my dad listen to him all the time before he went to Sirius
No, it seems like radio or TV guys whose goal is to shock you aren't too interesting.
Never heard of him before. He looks like Trump and Willem Dafoe had a baby
Yeah I used to listen to him sometimes until he got fired for that comment about the Rutgers women’s basketball team having nappy hair
Never heard of him until today.
Never heard of him till now.
Never even heard of the guy.
Simples...
Never heard of him
