Why does my ex walk past me in the street?

I broke it off with my ex about a year ago. Our relationship was a very passionate yet turbulant one and I was finding the extremes too damaging. Anyway, he has moved on with a new girl. We catch the same ferry and almost every morning we run into each other and he turns and looks the other way. He looks at me then looks away. Even after a year I still miss him. Why does he ignore me like this?

Not an issue anymore. I have closed this door and accepted that we cannot have a friendship...its difficult when you have known someone for a very very long time to cut ties. All the best to him and there is no weird ignoring business going on now!
