Why does the ex look at the ground when walking near me or looks at me when I'm not looking?

please don't answer 'why do you care? he/ she's your ex' <- I consider this not helpful and spam.

I'm asking why does this behaviour occurs, I just am interested in the answer.
I'm not interested in pursuing a relationship with him/ her.

I'm not going to ask why you care, but I am going to ask why you don't know the answer to this question. He looks down to avoid awkwardness, or to avoid giving you the upper hand. And he looks at you because you were a part of his life and he's reflecting, or he misses you and wants you back.

because I'm tired of thinking. sometimes its' nice to hear what other peoples thoughts are. I only have the one perspective on things. I was curious what guys think etc.
