The guy I am interested in, and who seems interested as well, is 4 inches shorter than me. he's also incredibly fit (dancer) and I stay active, I'm just not extremely fit. How big of a deal is that?

Yuk imagine what's it going to be like when you go out in heels. Short men are repulsive. Plus all your friends are going to be sniggering at you for dating a short arse.

But if you're turned on by dwarf porn then be my guest..I wouldn't touch em with a barge pole. A real man is someone who can still be taller than me in my high heels.

It depends on preference, I mean a lot of guys like tall girls, others find it intimidating to date a girl taller than them, personally I like short girls because I think they are just really cute, it hasn't stopped me dating taller girls... Its just all preference.
