Freshman in college dating a junior in highschool...?

Question

i like this guy and everything is in place for him to like me too(very few people think he doesn't like me). nothing has happened that would make me think otherwise. he is staying near his hometown to go to college this year and I'm still in highschool(junior) would you guys think that he definitely wouldn't date me because of this? for the guys going into college would you ever date a junior in high school? we are only a little over a year apart in age. he doesn't seem to care what people think and he has told me that he is waiting to have sex until he's married as am I because we are christians(so its not like he wants to sleep around like most college guys seem to).

Ha, you will not believe how similair your situation is to what I just dealt with about a week ago. I met this girl from my church on a backpacking trip. We bonded a little bit on the trip but just as friends. She is 18 going into college and I just turned 16 going on to be a junior in high school. We then went on a missions trip to Texas with our youth group. We flirted alot! It was obvious we liked each other. The only problem was she had a boyfriend. We were helping run a daycare one day when a little kid came up to us (while we were flirting) and says, "quit yo kissing boy, and come play with me". We laughed about it because we were just talking and flirting. She later on ask me "would you?", at first I didn't understand what she meant so I ask what and she said nevermind. I totally got it later on. We went outside one night and we layed down and listened to music. We had those really intense moments were we looked at each other and I was going to kiss her but in my mind I was thinking, We are on a missions trip with a church, She's 18, and she has a boyfriend. So I made it all night without kissing her. That night we text each other, That whole do you like me thing. She said yes, and the next day we had a huge discussion about what happened, and what "could" happen. I then asked her out and she said yes. I helped her end her old realtionship. I am so glad I ask her out. So what she is in college she is the most amazing girl I have ever met. We get butterflies in our stomaches when we talk to each other or touch each other. I won't explain the SEX thing cause I have a different opinion than you but I would definitely not make age an obstacle. I know your a girl and it's probably a little different for you but do whatever feels right to you. Good Luck

Heck yeah he WOULD date you!  He's definitely not too old for you.  One year is nothing considering that girls mature 2-3 years younger than boys do. He sounds like a perfect guy for you.  A girl I'm talking to a lot is just a soph in high school and is 16 and  I will be a soph in college and am 18.  We consider ourselves just right for each other.  She's so mature I can't believe it sometimes.  Great that you are both Christians.

Even tho you both are christians, you should still guard your heart! I'm sure he's not a bad person, but getting serious may make things complicated.I think you both should put your own goals and dreams before each other no matter what because your future is more important than any teenage love affair!

could definitely happen.  when I was a frosh in highschool, I was involved with 2 guys. and they were both freshman in college.  age doesn't matter, you just have to realize he'll be meeting lots of new people now that he's going away.  but he's living near home, so that's in your favor

If he isn't the partying type, then you definitely have a chance:) Go for him, ask him out, because you have nothing to loose, being embarrassed is nothing compared to not knowing or pining away for years when he doesn't feel the same.

when I was a freshman I met my boyfriend and he was a junior at the time we have been together for over two years he is my everything. we are two and a half years apart but age is nothing as long as the two of you are at the same level of maturity. and who cares what other people think no one wanted be and my boyfriend to be together it was really hard at first but it was all so worth it I think you should go for him
