Do boyfriends ever really lose weight?

I had a boyfriend who always talked about how he could get in shape if he only worked out and went swimming regularly. He ate pretty healthy a lot of the time, but he had some fatal bad habits, and he was older...

My boyfriend currently has a little bit of pudge to him. I think that when he moves out and buys his own food he'll be better off, especially if he gets a weight bench.

I've been the same size practically since I was a freshman in high school, with minor changes in the wrong direction if you know what I mean. My question is, does people's weight and musculature really change all that much in general, or is that just a myth?
