430 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I've never lost my glasses, because I'm extremely anal-retentive about knowing where certain things are at all times. Such as my phone, lighters, wallet, glasses, etc. Everything has a place or two it will be at any given time, whether in my house, or on my person. Lighters, because I'm a smoker; my phone and glasses, because they aren't things I can afford to replace right now if lost; and my wallet, because it's a pain in the ass to not have my license or other important things, let alone to replace them. I have this mental block against carelessly setting things down in random places while distracted by something else. Which is something I see my friends do all the time that annoys me to no end, haha. So I've developed the habit of subconsciously paying very close attention to people I'm around. Now when they lose something, I can tell them exactly where they set it down -hours- ago, before they go around searching the whole room/house/whatever. It saves everyone time. =P
My eyesight without my glasses isn't SO bad that I couldn't survive without them. But I'm near-sighted and I don't think I'd feel comfortable driving if I didn't have my glasses on. I can't really read street or road signs very well until I'm so close that needing to turn so abruptly would probably get me pulled over, haha. But I think that has more to do with the colors on the signs, rather than my actual vision. Because all the signs around here are green with white writing, plus any glare from headlights. Most other color combinations would probably be easier for me to read.02 Reply- +1 y
It does come in handy. I've had mine knocked off my face a few times, and one pair broken that way, haha. But they never land far away, and my vision is nowhere near bad enough that I can't see to find them. It's just kind of fuzzy, and it gets worse the farther away whatever I'm trying to see is. No problems up close though. Like right now the tv is probably like 15 feet away, so if I look at it over my glasses I can see what's going on, but even squinting doesn't help clear up the details.

not bad. I wouldn't walk into anything. I've left the house before and walked a good while before realizing I don't even have my contacts in, and then I'd have to go back.
the only impairment I've had was when I can't find my glasses because I can't see them hahah.
I wouldn't be able to go to lecture and take notes cause I wouldn't see the notes. I wouldn't be able to drive. although I have switched cars in our parking lot without glasses/contacts. all you do is reverse and pull in, so it's not really driving...
i wouldn't recognize people I know unless they were pretty close.
so I'm assuming you're more than 5.0. I have a friend who is like 8.0 and she's pretty blind. I'm 2.50 so its not bad, but definitely not for everyday life. if we're just talking, oh no, I don't have my glasses/contacts one me today, what will I do? as long as I don't have to drive, I'll be good.00 Reply
I wear contacts because I hate glasses, not on other people I just don't like them myself, and without them I can see virtually nothing. I have regularly lost my glasses (before contacts) and I had to get my family to search the whole house for me and once I lost them outside, that was bad. My eyes are pretty rapidly getting worse as I only started wearing glasses about 5yrs ago and I can now see virtually nothing without them. As for your ex, people who do things like that even when they're angry aren't worth your time, how selfish.

+1 yLasik! It's worth every penny. I would have never imagined how good life is without glasses and contacts. I still have to keep a pair of glasses around. When I don't get enough sleep or read for a long time, I'll get headaches, but I seldom have to wear my glasses. The prescription in the new glasses is weak, and the thin lenses are much more comfortable.

+1 yI can't read something more than 3 feet away, if it's in a book, so like 14 point font. And faces get blury, the details at that range as well. I am near sighted, so I can read very small things without my glasses, but I can't see crap without them at a distance. I have yet to loose them, I broke them once though, lost the screw too lol.

+1 yMy contacts are -9 and -10. I don't qualify for LASIK because my eyes are so bad that I would have to have a corneal transplant. I recognize a lot of things by shape or color, and I generally store items in the exact same place. Someone taking your glasses is a cruel joke! I definitely can understand how difficult that would be!

Oi. Lol you got me beat. My contacts were -8.0 both eyes before I had my surgery. I couldn't qualify for Lasik because my cornea was to thin and PRK was out of the question because my eyesight was too bad. Ended up getting a procedure called ICL. They pretty much implant corrective lens under your cornea. Great thing about it is, its reversible.
Ha! That argument must have been funny . How did you get your glasses back?
I Hate wearing my glasses that's why I bought contacts... But my vision is terrible by terrible I mean I am blind. I can see a person in front of me but I won't recognize their face or them right away I would have to get really close to them.03 Reply
+1 yBLIND! I am actually legally blind. I would not be able to read this without my glasses on. I can't see far.. But the far gets very close to me xD Bahah. I normally have contacts. But basically without either I would fail. I can just see blurs of color.
00 ReplyWell, I'm not horribly blind without them. And if I know you pretty well, I can tell you you are by the generally shape and color of your blobby form from about twenty feet away. So it isn't too bad. But handwriting and signs are always pretty difficult. I'm typing this right now with my glasses off just cos I'm curious, and I can only barely read what I'm typing. xD

+1 yBefore I had my eye surgery, my eyesight was 20/400. I couldn't even see the big E on the top without my glasses. Had glasses since I was in 3rd grade. I never liked glasses so I ended either losing them or breaking them due to my irresponsibility. I went ahead and gotten eye surgery about a year ago. Now my vision is 20/20. Feels great not to fumble around in the middle of the night trying to find my glasses so I can figure out what time it is.

+1 yI have a tendency to forget to put my glasses on before I leave the house (in my own defense, I've only had them since August and don't have to wear them all the time). I actually have 20/15 vision in my right eye, but my left eye is weaker, so anything more than 10 feet away is blurry. But if I cover my left eye, I can see small details that people with 20/20 vision can't lol

+1 yOne time that I lost them I couldn't go anywhere that involved driving. The one time I did try driving without my glasses I had to go at least 10mph because the lights looked like circles and the cars looked extremely blurry and I couldn't see the lanes. Its bad

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yIn my left eye I have 20/400 vision. Which is nearly blind. In my right I I have 20/30 vision which is pretty good. I have glasses and I had contacts, but I didn't like them. I don't like wearing my glasses so I really only wear them when I drive. I can tell there's a difference in my eyesight so I'm starting to wear them more. I tend to break my glasses. Usually playing basketball since I didn't like the contacts and I couldn't see the hoop so my coaches would make me wear my glasses.

+1 yIIRC, 20/200. Blind as a bat without them.
And who the hell takes away someones glasses? That's like taking away a blind person's stick or a hearing aid from an old man. Sorry, but your ex sounds like a horrible and immature bitch.10 ReplyI too wear glasses and have to live with without glasses on some occasions. But if your number is not too big you can live without glasses or lens. But if its more... than obviously one need to have glasses.

+1 ycant see three feet in front of me. I used to try and play goalkeeper without glasses and couldn't see the ball until it was about ten feet away <<< the result after one season -- stupidly fast reflexes. I wear contacts now so its all good
00 ReplyBefore I got my lasik I was very blind. I was actually legally blind without them. Could not see what the numbers on the clock were less then a foot away from my bed.

Why can't you get Lasik?

How many Dr. have you talked to? There is a procedure where instead of a corneal flap a small section of corneal cells is gently polished away. You might look into it. I would do it again even if the risk of the procedure was going completely blind.
horrible eyesight. I've worn glasses/contacts since I was 5. I'm impaired any time I don't have them lol. I'm glad she's your ex now.
02 Replyi can't tell where objects are, but I can't read much farther than 4 feet in front of me without contacts.

+1 yI was recommended glasses. I never wear them. I don't mind not wearing them. I'm not that blind without them.
01 Reply I'm really near sighted without my contacts. The furthest I can see detail without them in is maybe 3-4 feet at the most
00 ReplyWithout my contacts, my vision sucks but I can tell if it is day or night. That's about it.
