Why did my ex boyfriend call me and say, "Don't be a stranger"?

My ex boyfriend made up and excuse to call me, and while we were talking he said, "Don't be a stranger." What does that mean? Does he want me to contact him, or was he just trying to be friendly? Is there a chance he may want to get back together?

I was just recently in this situation. Overall your ex does not want to lose contact, and yes it is all of the above. There is a chance that he may want to get back together. My ex finally came clean and told me why keep contacting I never initiated contact. So just be cool about it,but there is a chance a good thing if you want him back.

Thanks for answering! During that call he also suggested getting coffee sometime, but he never talked about a time to do so...just sometime in the future. It's been 2 weeks since we had that conversation, and I haven't heard from him at all since. I guess I'm just incredibly confused by everything. :/ I can't figure out if he wants me to initate some contact or what he's doing. I'm trying just to wait it out. If you don't mind me asking, what happened in your situation?

Long story but we were together 5 years I called it quits then we decided later to possibly reconcile then during that process he started seeing someone else.The whole time he never stopped contacting me.I couldn't understand why and was confused since I assumed he moved on.Then he got engaged to her and still contacted me then I was even more confused.Basically there is no engagement anymore and etc.He still contacts me and said he thought about my feelings and etc.He couldn't let go

Guys are confusing. I definitely think the fact that he made an excuse to call means that he still wants some sort of contact, but I'm wondering if he was trying to get me to make contact, too. Im sure it does just be cool. I mean the times where it contacted me I would text the next day that said,"hey hope your day is going well." Without expecting to hear anything back. But he did respond.Some guys can be confusing.Not all.Bout like us females,some of us are indecisive.

he was reffering to: Don't act like a stranger to me meaning don't be so cold with me and yes there's a chance of him to want you back.

Thanks for answering! A little more info for you: The conversation wasn't cold between us at all. Basically, I have been doing the no contact thing since the break up, so that's why I'm wondering if he wants me to make some effort at contact or if he was just being friendly...or whatever else it could mean.

Thanks, I really hope so. I keep trying to get him off my mind, but that just makes me think about him more. I'm still very much in love.
