Would you date someone who bullied you as a kid?

Lets say you were bullied by the opposite sex as a kid, you get older, you didn't commit suicide and meet up in your mid late 20's and you both are single.

  • Yes I would. Why not?

    • Sounds coo. If I had more energy and will, I might want to do that too. Hahaha

    • Show All
    • Doing that would actually change the status to you being a bully and him being the victim.

    • @R3d_Anonymous Wouldn't that be called 'just deserts'? =)

Also - people change, but the evil stays within them. I'm fairly sure of it.

  • Of course. People change. I don't understand why people perpetuate this "fixed mindset" mentality where they think others have no potential to change.

For example, I just think statements like, "Once a cheater, always a cheater," are very erroneous and narrow-minded. Another example is men forgoing dating a woman because of her having many sexual partners (which I personally don't see as a problem at all, by the way). I wish people had more of a "growth mindset".

  • By bullying, you mean name callings and being made fun of or actually physical bullying?
If it was just the first, which I have undergone during my earlier school years then I'm over it by now.
However, if I were to have ever been actually physically bullied then nope.

But yes, I would like to know what's the catch.

  • Nah, pass. I'd want nothing to do with him. I wasn't bullied exactly, but this one guy used to call me names as a "joke" for years. I didn't let it get to me, because I didn't care. But years later he "grew into his looks" and tried to be nice to me. Still didn't care for him, and just tolerated his presence if I had to.

What Guys Said 9

  • Yes people change. Most people are little shits when they're kids. I'm nothing like I was when I was much younger. I also don't hold petty grudges.

  • It depends really.. I was an asshole child who grew up to be a relatively good person. I think when it comes to stuff like that that people can change.

  • Angry sex then leave them.
"But you said you loved me!"
"That's what you het for taking my milk money!"

But depends on how bad the bullying was. If it was playful hitting some girls don't know how to express emotions when they are younger. So physical contact and insults are their way to interact with you.

  • It... depends. On a lot of factors, really. How bad was the bullying? Was it physical, or mental bullying? Do they apologize genuinely? Has their attitude changed?

  • If they have the same attitude as before, then no. If they have changed their attitude and I liked them now, then probably.
