Waiting two weeks for a second date? Having second thoughts?

I went on a date with this really great guy, we hit it off really well and got on brilliantly. He asked to see me again and continues to message me everyday. But when I asked about meeting up again he said he can't do next week at all as his mum is visiting so it will have to be the following week. Is this legit or do you think he's having second thoughts? Is two weeks a long time to wait between dates?

Until you're more serious, mom is a very legit reason.
If he has SOME sense, he wouldn't text unless he wanted to continue things.

Now, if he's senseless, then all bets are off.
But at that point it's all for the better anyway.

Why are you waiting. Ask another hot guy out. You may find a keeper. You shouldn't have to sit around and wait for something that will never come. His loss.. GO
