Is kissing overrated?

I''m 15 and have never been kissed before. I have imagined it and makes me want it more. My sister said it's not all that enjoyable and it's overrated. I want to know what everyone else thinks.
Is a kiss just a kiss, is there a certain "spark" you get, does it mean anything to you?

ehh i think it depends on the person. i personally do also think its overrated. its simply kissing there isn't anything special or unbelievably amazing about it. my first kiss was a disappointment. because i also thought it was going to be something magical. it was not. i dont feel sparks just because i touch lips with someone else, just like i dont feel good physically from it either like its not going to feel electric. well to me it doesn't at least, but people who are very romantic and lovey dovey tend to see it differently. same goes for sex. some see it as just a physical act that feels good, while others see it as something magical that brings them closer together with their partner.

I don't think it is overrated. I think it's really nice and can be really sweet and special with someone you really like. Or it can be sexy, or both. A kiss can be a million things. It sometimes takes your breath away, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it leaves you wanting more, sometimes it makes you feel cared about and loved.

First kiss was disgusting. It was way too wet and sloppy eeww. I also never saw him again... though he was really cute, so that's a plus.

Kissing is amazing. That first kiss with anyone decides for me especially how attracted I really am to the guy. Kissing is just a turn on. But it gives me butterflies if they are good at kissing, sometimes you have to teach people how to kiss better though. Don't give up on them or you if you suck at it, keep trying

Its not really over rated if you're doing it with someone you enjoy, it can be enjoyable or it can be the total opposite. Sparks yes do exist but just because you don't feel it doesn't mean its not always not there. at first.

A simple peck doesn't do anything unless you have some feelings for the other person.
A make out session on the other hand... that's hot. If you and the other person know how to kiss, and add passion (obviously, no kiss is good without passion), then it is not overrated.

I very much enjoy making out, cause though many people think it's just what happens with the mouths, there's much more to it.

I love a good make out session. Gotta be with the right person though. When the right person (or the very very wrong person) kisses you, it can feel amazing, like time stops. It's one of those things, rubbish the first time but gets better with practice. My first (real) kiss was at 14, it was with an older boy. It was pretty good actually but I've had way better and way worse since.

I have kissed people before on the lips as a peck. In my opinion, because I have not made out before or anything I think it's not enjoyable, but that's because I'm not experienced. If I was, I'd say it's not overrated.
