Do men not like women who are physically stronger than them?

I used to do gymnastics full time and although it's not part of a traditional female line up, I used to train on the pommel horse and a guy who I used to train at the same gymnasium with would make a point of constantly telling me I was showing off and it's not a women's event. I know it isn't obviously but if I can do it I don't see why I can't have a go just to practice.

Do guys get bruised egos in scenarios like this? Bear in mind he was a strong guy himself to be able to do it so I don't see why he'd be intimidated.

Any thoughts guys? :)

I workout a lot and if a girl were to bench press, squat, or whatever, more than me I'd just be impressed and cheer her on. The main reason being that I get tired of seeing sissy girls making bullshit excuses of "I'll get big" when those super muscular girls are clearly taking drugs. I've been working out for over 2 years and still haven't even bench pressed 225. So I don't consider myself "strong" as it is. I just got a toned look that is considered big to some.

For a lot of men though their ego could be bruised but I think in that case it'd be because they are surrounded with dumbass "macho dudes" who just make fun of each other immaturely. But there could also be the case of a guy who is just plain intimidated and annoyed that he doesn't feel as "on top" or "macho" because a girl lifted more than him.

That's super sexy to me, because I love athletic women. The thought that a women could give me a run for my money if we wrestled or something is attractive to me. Some guys would think that I'm crazy for thinking that way, but that's just me. I'm fairly athletic, so I'd make some beast kids with an athetic women. haha. That's always in the back of my mind too. And if a man is intimidated by a women being "stronger" or "better" than him athletically, that dude is a bitch anyway.

It depends on the guy but for the majority of men I think they would want to be stronger than the women. It doesn't really bother me, if she's stronger than me then it just means that she's put in the hard work and discipline to become strong, something that I need to work more on. I want to surround myself with self-driven and like-minded people. Again, every guy is different and I don't think my ego would've been bruised in a scenario like that, I would try to stay humble and if I were to have those kind of thoughts, I would keep things like that to myself.

Men have to at least be stronger than the women to make her feel safe and protected, like most woman want to feel. We can't maker her feel that way, if the woman is stronger than us. The most common complaints we hear from women are things like, "Why can't I find a man that is my equal?" or "Where are the real men?" So whether women mean to or not, they have told us loud and clear that we are expected to fit into a certain role of strength and skill, and need to be at least on the the woman's level to be considered. This places us in direct competition with the woman we want to impress.

I work out almost every day, so if a girl could overpower me Id be both impressed and horrified at the same time. I don't think i could date someone like that though, purely because i find the fragile, cutesy, petite theme really attractive.

If she could do like kickboxing/martial arts and wrestle me down though, id find that pretty hot tbh

Personally, there's this girl at my work and she takes kickboxing and she wants me to join her so that we can spar.
I feel like I would want to dominate and kick the crap out of her and im sure she would want the release too.

So for me it goes both way so long as she's not feeding at it.

Women can still do contact sports just with differing rules, contact zones..and obviously they would be playing with other women. Athletic women are strong and shouldn't be deterred from playing sports that men usually do, within reason. I can get on a pommel horse whereas a lot of men can't...so what does that show you? :)

Exactly, everyone's different and we're still individuals regardless of gender constrictions so some women might excel in a strength sport now and then and a man might excel in something typically female dominated :) men are stronger than women but there exceptions to everything :)

btw, i never really answered your question. my point was that, if it looks like you can bench press me, im not going to date you, and since im really light, and you're really strong, its probably possible to bench press me. thats too strong. i like girls who aren't stick thin, but also aren't freaks

my roommate last year was a scrawny little guy and i took him to the gym one time and he was benching like 65lbs i think. I've seen girls do more than that and the whole time i was hoping none of them would show up or else hed feel like shit. i think women are more competitive in legs tho. i just read ur profile... are u actually 98 lbs? how are u alive rofl

lol I don't have much fat on me :P but I'm only short and naturally tiny framed lol. Women can have powerful legs because they have naturally strong lower bodies to be able to deliver children but men do always have stronger muscles than women..assuming they don't sit on their butts all day lol.

It's normal for guys to feel intimidated around women who are physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger than them. We are the male and should be stronger than women. That's how society raised us.

I personally wouldn't mind dating someone who is physically stronger than me, but I would feel weak and be a tad bit embarrassed. I wouldn't feel weak, however, if she was smarter than me or could hold her emotions better than me.

I like strong women, it is very attractive to me. I think it would be difficult to find a girl stronger than me who is not one of those bodybuilders, but, it would be kinda hot to play fight and wrestle with a strong girl who gave me a challenge :)
