He bit my cheek and shoulders. What does that mean?

This guy and I have been on and off talking to each other and we always have tension towards each other and last night he came over to chill. We were cuddling and all of a sudden he bit my cheeks then my shoulders, playfully. Why did he do that?

He might have been feeling you out to see your reaction, sometimes guys do that, not biting you're face usually but I've had it happen and it was his way of playfully feeling out where my lines are.
