Am I making a big deal?
I don't like how my boyfriend listens to Rap? Boys why do you listen to rap? and anyone else feel this way?[explicit]?
Am I making a big deal?
I don't think it's worth getting into. People listen to/watch/read media of entertainment all the time that don't reflect how they feel. If I was concerned about that kind of thing, I'd never let my wife watch Titanic, and she'd never be comfortable with me listening to Run to You by Bryan Adams.
I also dislike rap, but that's mostly because I think it sounds terrible. It doesn't necessarily reflect on the feelings of the listener.
You could talk to him about it, though, if you're really concerned. I might not stop listening to music just because someone asked me to, but if I care about her I'll probably explain that the music doesn't reflect who I am and that I do care about her feelings and welcome her thoughts.
You are making a big deal out of it. It's not like he is engaging is those activities, right? Does he treat you like that? It's only the music he listens to that you find a problem with? I hate rap, by the way.
He isn't at the moment but he went to strip clubs and stuff a lot. I just don't know if this just a "guy thing" we are both 21 soo..
Strip clubs? That changes nothing. Think about how he is with you. What bad things does he do to you, as opposed to what things you don't like him doing. If you don't like the way he treats you (cheating, insults, bodily harm, etc.), ditch him. But if he's a good fella that just likes rap and strip clubs, what is there to worry about?
I don't want to say "that's a guy thing", because I don't partake in those and I'm not much older than you guys, so I can't say if it's something he'll outgrow. I've a few friends that have grown out of it, though.
I'm sure you can ask him to not play the music around you?
But, people like different types of music and there's nothing you can do about what someone is interested in.
You can't really control a persons taste in music. It's not weird. Lots of people listen to rap and hip hop. Even females. In fact One of Those Nights is a good song IMO. I'm not trying to sound rude I'm just being straight forward. You can't control what people like and don't like. You can express your opinion about it to him or even request he doesn't play it around you but, thats about it.
I definitely like one of those nights in terms of the beat and stuff and I think the weeknd has a fantastic voice I just don't like the misogyny in these types of songs, and since my boyfriend is completely obsessed with the weeknd he must be influenced by what he says at least somewhat right? I mean we just started dating and I guess it just makes me question his character. We are 21 and he still has postures of like half naked women and so do his friends in his rooms... i just don't know if this is a "guy thing" or not.
What do you think?
They talk about hoes like that, not good women. Same way females joke about certain guys and take serious advantage of certain types of guys, and we still know there are good men then there are men you can use, men you can just take the piss out of and all those types.
And let's face it, there are hoes that really do act like the girls in the songs, and they get zero respect from most guys, but that doesn't mean they don't respect good women.

Queef on this comment all you want but my g. A man knows what he wants. I say leave him. There's men or guy have same taste as you, you just gotta try harder.
1. Based on this comment/replies I read, I was trying to be open minded but my brain just fell out from reading it all. It was too open minded for no damn reason and most comments be pointing out the most obvious.
2. Just like how nobody can change his opinion no one can change yours, unless you suddenly does, if that's the case well stop right here then.
Well, it looks like he wants to stick to the things he been doing. Hm... most likely porn on the side since he seems to have no issues with physically being in strip clubs lol while being in a relationship (unless you both agree to be in an open relationship and I forgot there's like 1000+ more typa relationships, gotta be very mindful of those too).
Listen, if you are not down for that, it's most definitely gonna stick on you like a needle. It's okay, no need for the lies.
If you are the "lovey dovey"/stuck in 2010 and the lower end years, or simply the simplistic type, trust me he isn't. I don't know how to stress that out for you. In order for anything to work, it's gotta have some reciprocation or some sort of "common ground".
Now. Ik this comments hella late. You prolly already left the mandem (the man/the boy) or whatever you decide, hope it was truthful enough! And most of all hope you are safe.
Music can be very hypnotic especially when you are high. You should be concern because music leads to thoughts of the soul. So he thinks yous a hoe?
Perfect comment. This is what scares me about my boyfriend, he's always listening to music about taking other guy's girlfriends and its sooo annoying and makes me view him as less of a man. i guess its what kind of music he likes but is kinda a turn off lol and i know he was in a love triangle before me and its just so messy and i always feel like im walking on eggshells just from being a relationship with him and seeing how low his morals are... smh music is very hypnotic and dangerous and i dont wanna fall victim to no one else's mistakes.
Bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks, lick on these nuts and suck the dick
You can't make someone like what you like, everyone is different and unique. Deal with it.
there are some nice rap songs
