Why does my boyfriend keep me separate from his friends even when his friend group is co-ed? One of the girls is his ex could that have anything to do with it?

If he keeps you away from his guy friends it means that he either doesn't trust them or he doesn't trust you. He probably just thinks it's awkward for you and his ex to hangout
