Why do these guys in my class throw things at me?

Sometimes, when I'm just minding my own business doing my work or taking notes or doodling, they'll throw paper balls at me. I ignore them, but they still continue to do it. They don't do this to any of the other girls in class, and so I can't help but feel a little hurt and self conscious whenever they do this. Do they do this because they think it's funny? How can I get them to stop?

This is basically a more elementary version of what some players do--go up to a very pretty girl and playfully (or not so playfully) insult her. The goal is to get her attention, convey superiority, and not obviously look like they're hitting on you. My guess is that the guys in your class are a baby version of the last sentence.

There's no real good solution. If you throw back, they think you're interested in them. If you glare, they'll call you a bitch (which really is just a way for them to patch up their hurt self-esteem).

I would try (truly) ignoring them at first. Any attention from you, good or bad, is likely seen as desirable from them. If you ignore them, they may try harder to get your attention (to test you). Another solution is through language implication. You could say things like, "you need a man...to protect you from all the annoying boys that pest you."

Was wondering if you could help with an answer to my scenario too, mine was similar but happened on a bus and happened to be from fellow guys too.. There was a female sitting on the other side of me but they spared her. Everytime I would look back at the boys though, they would stop but would then start again once I look back in front and would continue till I had to eventually leave and go to the lower deck of the bus.

It happened to me once to on a bus where these guys behind me kept throwing stuff at me, there was a girl sitting next to me on the other side too but they weren't doing it to her. I know the feeling too.

That used to happen to me all the time in high school. One thing I could say is get a guy friend and tell him about what's going on and have him around you a lot. Roll your eyes at them and give them a mean look. Who cares if they think you're a bitch? They're dumb anyway.

LOLS! That's funny. I don't really have the guts to do anything like that tho... v_v I wish I did. And about the dating thing, I'm almost out of high school, and I haven't dated either. All my friends are dating tho, and at times I am envious of them, and other times, I think it's so overrated! I also hear that no matter what age guys are, they will always be immature. Not sure how true that is, tho. ^^;

Yeah. I just think they're less mature because they so busy throwing paper balls at girls lol. I confess I have done some nasty stuff to people who try to bully me or pick on me. it's fun lol. I usually just leave people alone too unless they bother me. dont' worry. there shouldn't be a rush to get a bf. I'im single right now & it's rare to finda guy who's good and doesn't want to just take advantage of you, it just takes time when ever you are ready is good. so don't worry

Hahaha! You are my hero. xD I pretty much never ever do anything, even when someone is mean to me. I'll even do something nice for them if they asked me, even though I don't want to exactly. Throw something back at them. Or glare at them until they stop. That one always works. Glaring. Eventually, they'll become uncomfortable and stop doing it.

Yeah...used to happen to me a lot in middle school and I don't think they did that because they thought I was pretty or anything (I was definitely NOT at the time). They were just being bullies; I did the glaring thing and it worked and they backed off.

They are immature jerks. They probably think it's funny. If people were doing that to me I would tell them to stop and if it got really bad I'd tell my teacher.
