Why do I feel so lonely and somewhat depressed?

I've been feeling bad lately.. like lonely and not as happy as i used to be. Most of it has to do with the girl i like. I'm like confused to the fullest and don't know what to do. There are other things also like feeling insecure because I've never had a gf before. I mean girls have shown interest in me but i never do anything about it and it causes me to feel bad and lonely. It's an endless cycle and it's just horrible. Does anyone else feel this way?

I know exactly how you feel! Sometimes you just get too emotionally attatched to someone that sometimes you feel as if your not that good enough for them. I think you should just let nature take its course and calm down.. Girls love free-spirited guys who are out going, happy etc you should start going out with your friends or even ask the girl out on a date! Life is way to short to be waiting for someone and if she doesn't like you then her loss right? There are way too many fishes in the see to be stressing over one.. if you don't go out and socialize and all you do is sit at home lonely and depressed then how are you expected to even be happy or even get a girlfriend or make friends.. Just live your life and start going out more and you'll realise that there is a lot more to life than just sitting at home doing nothing :)

I don't feel this way even though I've never had a boyfriend myself. What you need to do is get a life, do things you like, find new hobbies, learn new things but stop thinking about that girl. You're young so you're going to meet plenty people, girls eventually if you just live your life and stop being depressed because of that particular girl.

I definitely do try and live my life. I go out a lot. Sometimes i feel like me going out is a way to temporarily relieve the loneliness only and doesn't actually fix it. And I don't know why i think about this girl so much. Its like whenever i try to not think about her it just comes back either way. It sucks.

You shouldn't force yourself to not think about her because it just won't work. If you want to think about her do it but then you should focus your energy on something else. I had a crush for 3 years on the same guy and I felt depressed on lonely but I realised I wasn't helping my case at all. It's clear I wouldn't atract him or any other person if I was feeling like that. Nobody wants to be with someone who's depressed, would you? Everybody wants someone take care of him/herself, who is interesting, curious, intelligent, have ambition to do things...just try to be the person you would like to be or the person you think would actually attract the type of girls you're into:)

I feel like if I'm that way i won't be me. I guess I've been feeling this way for a while and that's why. But i get what you're saying. It's not that don't have a chance with this chick because I'm pretty sure i do but like i said, i end up not doing anything and it depresses me.

(sorry if my English is a bit confusing, I'm french) If it's the case then obviously she's not a girl for you. But if you think you can have a chance with her, why do you end up doing nothing? what prevent you from making a move?

I'm saying I'm used to being the type of guy who's kind of negative. And yes. Also why wouldn't she?
I don't know what it is. It's had a psychological affect on me i believe. I've never actually approached girls before so I'm bad at it. Girls have approached me before and have shown interest.

I think she wouldn't be a girl for you if you had to change your personality to be with her because in the long run you won't be able to fake it anymore and the relantionship won't last. I'm just giving my opinion here. Really you can't be that bad at approaching girls uneless you're really creepy. Personally no matter how clumsy the guy is, if I like him I would give him a chance. Of course not every girls are the same but a lot are like that.Plus you really you have nothing to loose because now you torturing yourself because you not with this girl. Really you should either make a move or move on.

Yea i get you completely. What if she likes me for being that way? Also, i think i am naturally fun and all but I'm just negative because of a lot of factors when i was a child..

And yea i get what you're saying. This girl approached me but i feel like she might've just been friendly.

so your negativity is mainly because of your childhood. We all been through some bad things in childhood. I've been through nasty things myself and sometimes it's hard to let the past be the past but you're not allowed to let yourself down because of your childhood. You should definitely take revenge on life by living it in the fullest way possible really. The moment you would say fuck the people who did me wrong, fuck what people think you'll see how life can really be cool actually and then you'll wonder why you wasted your time being that depressed guy. I believe the only cure to depression, negative energies is just to not care anymore really. Do not care about what people think of you and just do you, there's nothing else that will help you. You want to know this girl then go talk to her if she say no you won't die but you'll be proud of yourself.

Yes I was badly heartbroken last year and I feel sad and lonely and the guy I currently like is taken so yeah my love life sucks balls
