They sound like Christian extremists judging by what they are saying if not Christian then some other sort of religious extreme... I definitely understand why you would dislike them, I probably would as well and I'm a Christian myself. If you still do need a therapist there are more open minded ones I promise you they aren't all like that lol!
I wouldn't take me queue from those people as the health professional norm, they're the farthest thing from it. I'm not a generalizing person so, no I wouldn't avoid/dislike all of them just because I've run into a few bad eggs, a lot of people would though.
I've never heard of therapists who do/say that. Either you're going to a Church for therapy or you're not seeing a professional person. I've been to several therapists and none of them ever brought religion, feminism or racism into anything.
It's absolutely not wrong. Sounds like you're seeing the wrong type of therapist-probably hyper-religious. Try seeing one at an academic medical center not affiliated with any particular religion and see if there's a change.
