This is really getting harder to deal with. I feel a cyclothemic episode accurately describes what's been going on. I am menstruating as well.

Can you clarify your definition of psychotherapy?
And yeah, I have close friends... just not that many. I've been using my brother as a security blanket. On Friday when we went camping, he said I was manic & it was scaring his friends. So he says I can't hang out with them anymore. That really hurts but it is what it is. It's hard on him, he's barely 17.

Some people just don't quite understand and you'll run into that kind of ignorance at least a few more times during your life. There are two commonly used forms of psychotherapy: cognitive behavioral therapy (the most commonly utilized) and psychodynamic psychotherapy (my own preference). I have Bipolar II.

My advice I can give you, as I have been med- free for over ten years is: Conserve your happy juices. Learn to regulate them. If you have the strength and willpower to control your own moods, and not be a slave to the emotions, you can begin to self regulate.

I wish I could go back to freshman year of college, the last year of my life I didn't have to take meds. But it's not totally the meds; a lot of factors really. Too many. Maybe God will a lot me that in 10 years, but I'm not seeing it around the corner.

You are correct. It has taken me more than ten years of strict self and mental control to reach a sort of stability. If I said I was fine, I'd be lying. I suffer depression when I am weak. But the key is managing your happy emotions, and resisting their non stop barrage as they try and gain access to your mind. I guarantee you will be okay. It's taken me years, yes, but the end result of emotional stability is worth everything.

I'm still working on that, harnessing my psychosis & making genius out of it. God's given me a lot of interest & allotted me a lot of rationale & personification of my disease through Greek philosophy. Aristotle & Pandora especially.

Well I'd go to the therapist to confirm your diagnoses, also if you in fact have bipolar you, most people get it medicated
