Don't take anything no like melatonin. It can actually get you into deep depression if you go to far and it can really mess with your hormones.
It sounds like you should go to a doctor, especially if you are losing hair. It could just be stress, but it could also be a hormone imbalance.
Seek professional medical help. Don't follow advice on the internet for any sort of medical problems.

What is causing you so much stress?
I would focus away from the thoughts that make you stressed and focus more on actions you're currently doing (e. g. brushing teeth, typing, exercise, etc.). Don't think of anything else than the one thing.Try taking melatonin to help you sleep. It does wonders for me. And what is causing you so much stress other than the nightmares and lack of sleep?
