Why is it acceptable to EXPECT a woman to be thin?

I want to know because I am a woman who has had two children and gone from a size 2 to a size 12 in 3 years. I gained 20 lbs with my first pregnancy and 25 with my second (normal weight gain). I don't snack, and I eat 2 meals a day. sadly lower back and pelvic pain prevents me from working out much, although I try. I am devastated and hurt. I bring life into this world and as a chubby woman (5'5 149lbs) I am looked at as lazy, unhealthy and unappealing. My husband pretends it does't bother him, but I know it does. He appreciated that I was a fit girl in our earlier years of dating and upon buying new clothes I am a 12. Women are by design supposed to gain weight after having babies. Science says so. Some women are blessed to remain small despite the weight gain while others like me can''t seem to. I'm quickly learning the plight of a mother. Having children make women less appealing to men. Ain't that some bullshit. Shouldn't women be respected more for carrying every life on earth? Or are we forever doomed by what we look like?

Let me clarify. I have NO PROBLEM with thin women. I find women of ALL shapes and sizes attractive. (there is a line however) so I don't want anyone to be offended. I'm just shocked that people don't relize all the shit pregnancy does to our bodies.. I knew nothing was wrong with being heavier, but now I see what people think of it.
