I'm not so sure that what I got was a pap smear, since they have a different name here. Which I forgot lol But the first time I went to my gyn, she practically checked everything. My boobs, and took a tissue sample too. I'm guessing that's what a pap smear is? If it is, then it wasn't that bad for me. Just a little pressure, that's all. Nothing worse than the actual act of standing naked in front of your doctor and lifting your arms while she gropes your breasts and then spreading your legs for her... oh man...

I get one every year, it's not that big of a deal. A little uncomfortable but not too bad. They take the little clamp thing to open your cervix and they scrape the inside with a little brushy thing. You feel pressure when they put the clamp in and the scraping sounds bad but it really isn't, the brush is pretty soft. You really should get it done just in case there's anything wrong, it's better to know.
Yes, I got one last week and it hurt like hell. That's why I try to avoid them.
I don't know what it's like having one, but taking one is usually quick and easy and at most uncomfortable for the patient. I've done close to 10 in the past couple of weeks and they really are not as bad as it sounds. I think waiting on results or potential results is so much harder
they gave my cousin pap smear when she got on birth control at age 14

It takes like 10 seconds. It's quick and a little cold. But it doesn't hurt and you'll feel good after since you will know your body is in good health.
I had my first one done like 4 months ago or something like that.Yes. I haaate them. They are more uncomfortable than painful. On the upside, you'll experience worse things as a woman ;)
Got my first one last week. Not as bad as I thought. No desire to do it again but whatever.
I haven't had a pap smear but I've had a pelvic exam with the speculum and stuff. It's awkward but it didn't hurt or anything.
Had one yesterday. It's awkward, but it has to be done. If you feel weird about it I would suggest having a female doctor instead of a male. That's just my preference. Goodluck!
My wife has one each year.
