How to get rid of 'pins and needles'?

My foot randomly got numb, and its not the norm kind of numb i'm used to wear it feels kind of weird and sensitive.
This numb HURTS. It literally feels like REAL needles everywhere on the bottom of my foot.
Its literally been going on for 15 minutes straight now. I've massaged it, i've walked aroud, but nothing seems to work. And its just REALLY painful so can someone please help?

How long has this been going on? Diabetes can cause the same exact problem
If you sit a certain way for long period of time that can cause that to happen
to your feet if you were sitting on them. Wearing shoes that are too small
can cause numbness and tingling in the feet. If your feet is hanging over
your bed that can restrict blood flow to them and can cause numbness Also
walking too long on your feet without taking a rest or standing too long
can cause it to happen to your feet ,

I've been sitting on my bed for 3 hours watching Netflix and they were hanging off, but Diabetes type 1 doesn't run in my family and i'm 5'4 and weigh 110, so I don't have either form.
So, yes I think it was me sitting, thats a relief lol, it actually went away while I was typing this!! Woot-woot!
Incase this happens again int he future though, do you know how to get rid of it?

If it happens again the best thing i was always told is to walk
if you can stand just make , never try walking if your feets too numb
cause you could risk taking a fall.. You could also try off and on standing
on your feet for a few minutes while you watch Netflix or for any reason
that you are laying in your bed.. Walking does help blood flow to the feet
but only do it if you know for sure your stable on your feet you don't want
stand up than possible strike your head with a fall god forbid..

It may sound crazy but I've heard that for diabetics you get random numbs but other than that maybe your foot is too sensitive. Try meeting a doctor...

Ya, usually its more of a sensitive weird feeling that goes away in a few seconds (but only sometimes in the mornings when I get up).
But this sensation is much different and it is the first time.

do you sit Indian style often? the only reason I ask is I do and it often causes the same sensations in my feet

Yes, a lot,
I either sit like that, extend one leg out and bend the other leg and rest my foot on the side of the extended leg (like a yoga pose I guess but sitting down) or a sit on the side of my bed with my feet hanging out.

lol I have sit Indian style most of my life and just can't seem to break the habit even knowing it will cause me discomfort. if you can remember to try a different position and see it that will provide you relief

I was sitting indian position while typing out the way I sit and didn't notice and when I saw your comment I looked down on my legs and I was like "Oh shit... really? I'm sitting this way again"

its one of those involuntary things , and without serious diligence you will be doing it again before you go to bed lol , im doing it again now that I notice it
