I'm assuming this training requires a lot of lifting? Repairing sore muscles is one of the nutrient intensive things your body can go through. Healing muscle sinews ain't cheap, and the resources need to come from somewhere. You'll find the more you lift, your appetite will shoot through the roof. Possibly even more so than if you were to do intense cardio, at least for me it's like that.
I become hungry after a run, but I become ravenous after a lifting session, and for a few days afterward.

Do you eat a lot of sweets or carbs in that meal?
