i joined cross country this summer, and started about a month ago for conditioning. we have ran a lot, & i think im kind of used to it. but i am still the last one. everyone else on the team were either returners or its just their first time joining it, but they are still faster than me. i feel so slow and a failure because i am still the last one even after a month of practice!!! I don't know, maybe im not pushing nyself hard enough... there was a week where no one came to practice because they were at camp. but i was literally the only one who actually practiced that week. i felt so much better running alone, because i felt like i didn't have to compete against anyone. yesterday i made my 2 miles in 24 freakin mintues!!! 24! thats the slowest i have evr done that in a very long time. i haven't ran this much since my 7th grade in middle school, & that was 4 years ago! I don't know what to do, will i eventually get faster?
First of all, you just joined right? don't push yourself take your time. Practice honestly is extremely important. I run every second day managing 7 miles in 30 minutes gradually getting faster times and healthier fitness levels., used to be 7 miles in 1 hour and 20 minutes half a year ago xD, but practice every second day or so really helps, wherever you are. I train with music for motivation, try it! Anymore questions ask me please! :)
