Do you lie to save their feelings? Or do you tell them the truth, hoping it will lead to a lifestyle change?
Please note: By fat, I mean a BMI over 25, or a BF% of over 30% for women, and 20% for men.
i tell the truth, but I'm considerate about it rather than being so bitchy and putting people down. I'm 100% genuine with what i say
it's along the lines of "look, you look fine, you have a lot going for you. If ur concerned about how u look, there's always room for improvement, and you'd look even more amazing than you already do. Other ways to make u feel more confident would be to accentuate ur favourite features with specific style tips. for example... u have GREAT boobs :P if u wear a statement necklace that draws attention to ur chest, that's where the eye will go first!"
so in doing this, u make the person feel more confident AND THEN u can go about telling them what they could improve physically.
But it's not about looks, it's about health. More and more people are believing that fat can be healthy, even though it can't be.
in reality, isn't it really about both?
u dont have to be skinny to be healthy, it's true. i was living proof of that. i used to be overweight but still fit enough to sprint 800m better than slimmer girls. for me i mainly wanted to look better.
it depends on the person after all.
The simple facts of being overweight are thay your joints are under increased pressure, as are your organs. Just because you could sprint far, doesn't mean your body wasn't dying inside.
if my body was dying inside i wouldn't be able to run lol, but whatever. this is becoming pointless.
Wrong. You often don't know that your joints are under huge amounts of strain until the cartilage is wearing out and it's too late. When you're overweight, your heart works harder, so does your liver and pancreas. These are medical facts, all you're doing is trying to make yourself feel better about it.
lol @ "wrong" 😆
im not an idiot, i know that, but i wasn't dying. i wasn't overweight by 100lbs lmao. u didn't even ask me how overweight i was. and feel better about what? what u tell me doesn't make me feel worse bout myself. i was a great athlete and i still am one, so yeah I don't know what ur talkin bout.
I don't care how overweight you were. It's still going to have adverse effects on joint and organ function.
You say you're not an idiot, but you're kind of making yourself sound like an idiot xD
not necessarily, but u keep believing that. i dont agree.
if u say so. was great talking to u.
I wouldn't just go and say, "You're fat as fuck", I would be more gentle with my choice of words. I would say "You're a little chubby" or something along those lines. If they were obese, I would tell them that. I wouldn't be an ass about it though. I take feelings into consideration because I've been their before.
there*
Yep all the time, I tell girls they are beautiful even though they aren't too. If you tell the truth they get mad at you, call you a d*ck, etc. With the fat thing I usually hint that I was lying when I said "you are not fat", but with the beautiful thing, I tell most girls that just to boost their self esteem, I might be lying but looks are something thats harder to change, being fat you can just go to the gym and cut back on the carbs. This is all with girls by the way, with some of my guy friends we joke around about them being fat and its fine, with girls though they always give you that death stare so you have to lie in order to please them.
I tell them the truth. I'm surprised this graph is so balanced because the rate me section of this site is absolutely imbalanced. But once a liar, always a liar, I guess ;)
Hahaha, too true xD if you mention someone's weight, you get drowned in SJWs.

1. Vote 'B'
2. However, I don't lie about such things
3. And I don't say things to hurt them
4. I say it in a fine manner that fits the bill
5. Language is meant to convey the right thing and I use it just that way :)
6. End of my statement / explanation / telling them, most have been inspired than hurt :) ;)
Yes. I'm pretty shitty at lying. Although I do try to sugar coat it a bit. There is no point in being a bitch about it. I want to help not hurt that person. Hurting their feelings is rather counter productive.
I don't call people fat.
I see everyone as beautiful in their own way, even if I don't always understand. However, if I am asked if someone looks HEALTHY for their weight, honesty is all they get.
I tell them they're not fat. But then I tell them that if they want to make changes with how they look I can provide them with a workout routine/diet plan.
But it's their call.
i tell them the truth and tell them to be confident about it. they always get more confident after :)
They shouldn't be confident about it. They should lose the weight, too many people are dying of weight related problems.
I tell them the truth.
What if she is an oversensitive girl?
Same thing, if she asked, I would still answer honestly.
Only myself as I weep into a third slice of cake...
i told a girl the truth and she was like "omfg, i can't believe u actually had the balls to say that, what a bastard" since then I lie to people lol
Nah nothing is accomplished by lying in that situation
I stayed quite rather than telling the obvious.
Why? You're contributing to the growing obesity rate, then.
Oh well, that's ok then
I lie to them, just being polite
