Pro's is that you get exercise, build stamina, helps your lungs, works out your whole body, cons is that is bad on your knees, aids in losing weight but not really building/toning muscle if you don't engage in other exercises. You could run 5 x a week, and if you just run maybe twice and do core, and weights you will get better results in a shorter amount of time.

You're more likely to stick at running if you sign up for a race. 5k or 10k are good beginner distances. If you want to get faster make sure that you don't run at same pace all the time and try and do a few interval sessions a week as well as steady state long runs.

You should run 3 times a week for like an hour.I was in Cross Country and Track in HS so I know quite a bit.
PROS- fast weight loss, gives you more energy, forms good looking legs and body
CONS- It can get quite boring after a while so I encourage you to change your route every time.
