I know your struggle :/ *hugs*
Here's some advice based on stuff I've tried/learned:
Ultimately, acne is caused by hormone imbalances. Changing your diet therefore probably won't make a difference. Keeping your skin clean is of course good though because it prevents blocked pores and helps clear dead skin cells etc. :)
To help with hormone imbalances, you should really talk to a doctor about maybe getting some medication. What helped me was birth control which is maybe a less helpful thing to say to you xD , but there are meds specifically to help acne that a doctor could prescribe for you.
Benzoyl peroxide I used to use; my advice is if you're going to use it at all do so very sparingly; it feels like you're taking control more if you use it a lot; but it's very drying which isn't good because it sends your skin into a kind of panic mode where it produces a lot of excess oil, which isn't what you want.
Along a similar vein, you need to moisturise. If your skin feels oily this might seem counter productive, but as I said; your skin may well be producing extra sebum because it's dry. Oil free moisturiser is the best; Neutrogena do a good one that's very light, absorbs quickly and makes your skin feel smoother.
I've recently started using Freederm products and I recommend them pretty highly. I haven't tried their moisturiser, but their Daily Complex is excellent stuff, and I think that their Fast Track gel is actually better than benzoyl peroxide; it works, but it's gentler.
You should buy face washes, not scrubs. Scrubbing your face is another thing that's likely to make it produce extra oil. Exfoliating with a scrub if you are going to do it you should only do once a week at most. Equally don't wash your face more than twice a day, and avoid flannels as those both scrub your face and can gather bacteria that you don't want introducing to your face (I'm guilty of using a flannel though..)
I'm not sure if Boots is a shop that exists outside the UK (apologies for my ignorance); but if you can get them washes I recommend are their own brand charcoal wash or their Tea Tree Witch Hazel Berry jelly.
Good luck man <3 . And fingers crossed too that your skin will improve naturally over the next few years :)

I just scrub and wash daily with not special creams or soaps... just normal. I very rarely get pimples... usually i get one pimple if it's too hot and I wore makeup that day, then somehow it causes a break out of usually just one random pimple... but i literally have to be sweating for it to happen.. I think it somehow opens up my pores? and the makeup must cause some type of reaction to my skin, and that's when It happens I suppose... But I don't do anything special or buy expensive products to treat my face... never have... My sister n'law is always buying all these expensive face products for her face... and she often gets a bunch of pimples... She's really pretty, but I have noticed this... I don't buy anything special for my face.
I do however make sure to buy hair products, such as shampoos and conditioners that don't have many ingredients, and avoid anything with laureth sulfate... as it dehydrates your hair... it's salt added to make the product foam up, which makes the client "think" it works better because it's "foamy"...
Use isotretinoin 20mg capsules (one per day) for 3-4 months, say bye- bye to acne/pimples. It worked for me. I got mine treated last year after a struggle of 8 years. Nothing works better than this.
Take advice of your doctor first. The only side effect is that it'll make your lips dry so much but still, ask doctor first.
I take lot of sugar and dairy products everyday and still I managed to defeat that disease. Thanks to isotretinoin.
Your doctor will take a cholesterol test too. Medication may vary depending upon the results. Get it treated ASAP otherwise it'll leave permanent marks.
Good luck :) take care.
Dude I don't know where you were led to think removing or adding things to your diet actually affects wherther or not you will or won't have acne issue , but in reality this is just one of those " it is what it is issues. Hell in 50 years old and still have an occasional flare up. I have over the years found that it happens more often when I have things happen that tear at my nerves. I'm not going to say it's the direct cause but some how they are linked

I don't wear make-up (aside from mascara). Though I'll assume that doesn't apply to you...
I don't use any products on my skin either. None of those 'cleansing' wipes or anything that are loaded with chemicals that are more irritating/dehydrating than anything else.
I try to keep my diet pretty low-fat (ie. eat out no more than once every 1-2/weeks), will have something sweet like icecream once a month to keep processed sugars low for the most-part. Plus I make sure to work out regularly, like 4-5x/week to keep my skin well oxygenated, in addition to drinking strictly water to detox. My face isn't flawless, but it's pretty much break out free when I'm not on my period. I say use Cetaphil if you don't have major breakouts-winter and I like the Simple-Moisturizing Facial wash-it isn't moisturizing, but it really helps clean out the pores.
Tips
-wash face once in the morning, after working out, and once before you go to bed.
-only use as much product as you need, especially with a product that can dry you out. Sometimes you need a dime sized amount, sometimes less than that.
-Use blotting paper. It will wick away the excess oil during the day.
-Don't drink soda.
-Reduce your stress.
-Get active. My skin improved a lot when I started eating healthy. I never had acne, just the occasional pimple here and there but it was still annoying. For me, eliminating dairy, gluten and sugar really made a difference. It seems like you already tried that though except for gluten. Maybe you could try that? As for skincare, I threw away all my expensive products after reading their ingredient lists. So many chemicals, I doubt they were doing my skin any good and it's not like they ever helped anyway. Now I only use water, face oils and clay masks (powder that you mix with water) once a week. Works wonders and my skin has never looked better. I don't even use foundation anymore. Google oil cleansing as well. It seems counterproductive at first but it really gives my skin this "flawless" look
Wash your face with coconut oil, (apply it and wash off with warm water) I would stop using harsh chemicals because it irritates your pores. Coconut has a anti bacterial agent in it that can ward off acne. I know what your thinking.. "why would I put MORE oil on my face?" trust me... I works, honey/lemon masks help fade scares. It's worth a try right? along with a healthy diet your face and scares will be gone! never know until you try. (:
You should try using aloe Vera on your face, or a Cinnamon and Honey Mask, Or naturally squeezed tomatoe juice helps, plenty of other vegetables and fruits work great with getting rid of acne including: Apple orange peels, blended strawberries, Papaya, and lemon juice. You could try applying baking soda (this one really helped me) Apllying Green tea to pimples works too. And try washing your face with WARM water only.
It can be hormones that are causing the acne. That sucks though, I'm really sorry, you're taking the right actions with altering your diet, but that may not be the only culprit. Have you spoken with your doctor about it? Some women go on birth control to regulate their hormones, and it's seemed to help some of them. Also, drinking water is apparently suppose to help clear up skin. good luck, I'm sorry you have to deal with that. My brother had horrible acne, luckily his hormones leveled out with age, but he had it until his early 20s, he has scars from it. :/
It's your age, partially. Your skin should clear up as you get older. Being young, your hormones aren't quite balanced yet. It'll happen in time. Unfortunately there's often not much to do other than wait.
If you are really troubled by the acne, you can speak to your doctor about medications you can take to alleviate it. Pay in mind though that there can be a lot of side effects to this.you're 18 it's normal that you have acne but you're already doing the right things :)
Don't eat chips or fries / fastfood , drink a lot of water and eat a lot of vegetables.
Try different oils for your face and don't wash your face with soap or scrub it.Workout and eat right, don't be afraid of fat or carbs. Not eating enough fat might drive you crazy lol. Wash your face with a facial cleanser daily. I'd recommend using toner and moisturizing after. Drink lots of water and you should be good
Drink TONS and TONS of water- no joke
Work out (sweating removes toxins/impurities from skin
Try apple cider vinegar DILUTED with water as a toner after you wash your face with CETAPHIL
moisturize morning/night
Exfoliate at least once a week
Avoid harsh chemicals honestly, stick to all natural
You'll get better! I speak from experience:)These are the products I use to fight acne and keep my skin soft and moisturized;
Clearasil (the gel and some of the washes)
Biore blackhead strips
Cetaphil bar soap
Aveeno soap and moisturizer for when skin gets dried out from acne productsDon't use benzoyl peroxide. Buy dove bar soap. Wash and pay your face dry. But day cream with spf 30 and night cream. Don't get lotion. After a month you will have nice skin. Be gentle and you will be ok.
Honestly , I think after I hit puberty, I noticed on weeks where I don't masturbate at least twice a day, I do tend to end up with some pimples. But once I get those weeks, if I have a pimples, I take a needle , poke it and put rubbing alcohol and toothpaste over it for the night, and it's almost gone/dried up the next morning.
Some people genetically just get a lot of acne. I'm not one of these people but I have two sisters that are. Washing with a different type of face wash doesn't allow your skin to adjust to the treatment. Rinsing with cold water will close your pores which might help. I personally use an extra tooth brush to lightly scrub my face ever now and again to get rid of dead skin. If it's still troubling you though I'd see a dermatologist.
I used to be on BCP which made my skin flawless. Now I apply Mario Badescu Drying Lotion to my acne. You apply the lotion onto your acne before bed and it dries out the pimple over night so you wake up pimple free. It has been a life save for me, but it is a little pricey for $17. I still think it's worth it though.
You should eat antibiotics. You should go to a dermatologist and get a prescription for medicine, that's the best if not the only way to get rid of acne permanently.
haven't had breakouts for a while now, might be change in diet or growing up
I rarely get one anymore. Since I was about 20 it stopped.
I have fortunately never really had many problems with pimples but I still use masks for extra deep skin care & a peeling for a deep cleanse like once a week.
work out take 2 showers a day and a healthy amount of sun and wash your face its what i do No pimples for me boo!
