Should I be a plus size model?

My mom tells me to not be a model and that I don't have the look she says I'm not big and I'm not to skinny I've lost 60 pounds and now weigh 167 and I'm 5'3 I use to be really bigger I'm planning on losing weight but I really want to model so bad..a lot people like my auntie and mom and sis ..couple of my friends says..i shouldn't do it ..i have pictures of me in the link above ..i think I have a shot the only thing I think is wrong is that I'm a little to short...I'm planning on loosing more weight so I can be a regular model but the that'll mean I have to loose a lot of weight..

Well in order to be a plus size model you need to be in shape as well, you gotta work out too...youre a bit short to be a model too (dont take it as a diss or anything) I myself wanted to be a model and I'm just about your height, an inch taller and weigh less but plus size models need to be above 5'3. Being a model is just a really bad idea, your mom, your sis, and your friends are right...its really a waste of time, I tried out for modeling when I was young and you don't wanna be in their world, stuck up snobs and bitches. the manager of modeling is really mean too, theyre really blunt so be 100% sure you wanna do this..

I hate to burst your bubble, but I agree with ionlywantyou - I saw your picture and you look great the way you are. If you want to work out and lose some weight, definitely do it - more power to you. Nonetheless, the modelling business is hard to get into, and unfortunately at 5'3" I doubt you're going to get anything. This decision isn't based on your looks or anything but only your height. You'd be setting yourself up for disappointment. Just love who you are and I'm sure you have a number of other talents and wishes you could pursue! Best of luck to you!

I think you should go for it; the only way you're ever going to get to be one, or even find out anything about it, is if you try, right? And they need models for everything nowadays, not just your tall-thin amazon woman, so I say good luck to you.

You can do commercial modeling (magazines, ads, etc.) but you're too short to be runway. You have the average "pretty face" which is a plus because that's the look commercial modeling tends to go for and I think you could do it because fortunately, although you're overweight, your fat happens to be in the right places that gives the illusion of not being "obese" but "thick" so to speak.
