I'm not fat but I'm not fit as I was.
I always ate what I wanted so I have no idea how I can lose this weight that I gained.
I'll join a gym, so the exercise part is not a problem, just help me out with the diet thing.
thanks.
Write down what you eat on a typical day. Write down your triggers for comfort food (what do you eat when you are upset, on your period or when you go out), notice whether you consume a lot of junk food or drink sweetened drinks. Note down if you drink a lot of alcohol. Ok, if you eat a lot of sugar you need to replace this sugar intake with natural sugar. Don't stop sugar instantly cause you'll get cravings. Instead replace it with apples. I'm not joking. There are certain fruit that have a slower release rate of sugars in your blood stream which keep your blood sugar "high" for longer. Apples are brilliant. Have 3 a day! One in the morning, one after lunch and one after dinner. Have your lunch as easrly as possible (at noon is best) and your dinner as early as possible (never after 8). Get rid of all sweet stuff from the house. Minimize bread intake (if you need bread every day just get wholegrain bread...its denser and you'll feel full after a single slice). Have salads and replace dressing with olive oil. In fact always have a big salad with your meal. Always have breakfast. Try things like Weetabix (dont know if you have it there), and replace full-fat milk for skimmed or semi-skimmed. Use the oven as opposed to frying stuff (no more fry-ups), stay clear from butter and replace it with margorine (if you must). And remember that you need a balanced diet. So you must have fish, eggs, meat and carbohydrates. Don't go on those weard soup diets it will slow down and kill your metabolism. If you go out restrict yourself to a single drink and just have orange juice for the rest of the night. If you have to go to a restaurant have lean meat or fish (no sauce). If you find yourself starving in the middle of the day (cause you'd have a snack) have fruit. It will take you 3-5 days to get used to less food intake. This is the hard part. After that you'll be fine. Oh, and eat yoghurt. You need the helpful bacteria LOL. If you find dieting hard, just quit everything sweet and cut all your portions in half. That should work.
Drink as much WATER as possible. Whenever my self esteem is taking a hit I guzzle water to shed a couple pounds. APPLES! Eat a couple apples a day. When you eat them you burn more calories digesting them than there are in the fruit. Eat small portions of fruits or veggies every couple hours, but not bananas, they have too many carbs. Acai berry help weight loss. Try to walk EVERY DAY. Even if you only have enough time to walk a few block, walk everyday. Do you have a scale? If not, GET ONE. If your serious about this your going to need one. Resturants: even though they give you enough food for three people, watch that portion control! At home don't be compulsive about cleaning your plate. Those last few bites that look oh so good can actually pack on and extra hundred calories or more. Try to eat dinner early, take a short walk afterward if possible, and then when you feel snackish later, have an apple. Make sure you eat fresh fruits and vegitables, canned and frozen usually have added sugar and preservatives. Eat lots of green salad with every meal. Find someone to diet and exercise with you, and most importantly DON'T GIVE UP! Maybe get a puppy, they're a lot of work and leash training is a great way to get exercise. Qiut chips, cookies, cakes, and icecream. There are healthy alternitives to everything, all you have to do is find them. Good luck!
Well let me just say that boxing training has worked amazing for me. It builds confidence, motivates and is a great work out. Then again I train with the best teacher in anything I have ever had and he used to be a champion, it might not be the same in other places, I know there are a lot of poor boxing coaches out there.
Anyway dieting. Try to make your own meals instead of eating ready mades. Chicken curry is easy, just cook up some chicken in a pan, add a curry sauce (I usually go for green curry or tikka), put some chick peas and mushrooms in there or whatever you fancy, and then have it with rice or naan bread it's filling but also very healthy. Or you can make your own chilli/pasta sauce, lasagne just make sure you keep it healthy.
Also try and eat fruit corners for a snack. Sure sometimes I get chcoolate cravings but I don't eat nearly as much chocolate as I used to, because I eat a lot of healthy yoghurts and fruit and stuff and usually have a bowl of fruit & fibre cereal in the morning, which is another tip as well actually. Try not to add sugar, I never do and I can still taste the sweetness I figure there's a lot of natural sugars in that stuff. Also if cows milk isn';t that good for you like me then you can just use soya milk instead, which I now think is nicer than cows milk (as long as it's alpro soya which has a sweeter taste, this cheaper brand I had recently tasted real bland).
No Dairy, No sugars (except natural sugars), eat fish and white meat more than red meats, eat lots of fruits and veggies, don't drink a lot of alcohol, drink lots and lots of water. Like the other lady said, writing your meals down with help too if you are having troubles sticking to whatever diet you decide on, it will make you more aware of the things you can still work on.

Just stay away from junk food like chips and cookies and candy, and avoid soda pop and try to limit white bread. Eat lots of vegetables along with whatever else you're eating. Don't eat fast food.
That should be good enough to get back to your former hotness pretty quick.

I don't really exercise. I just run around like a chicken with it's head cut off because I'm busy doing one or the other, something. I drink lots of water and I just keep active.
