Ok so hardcore female athletes tend to miss their periods. A complication of this is that bone loss can occur much earlier than usual. Medication can be taken to normalize hormone levels but weight gain could be a possible effect. Girls, what would you do? Both are pretty important in my eyes! Having healthy bones and being a nice weight!
For an athlete, healthy bones are more important.
I'm sure the exercise they get will balance it out so long as they eat a HEALTHY diet. Athletes tend to eat alot, but some of the athletes I know, eat a lot but very unhealthy. One of my friends is one of the best track runners in the state and went to state championship this year, and she eats loads of junk food
