How long do you think I will need braces for?

Okay so I haven't visited the orthodontist yet because it €200 for an appointment and I want to talk about it first! I have a small gap between my front teeth, about .01cm (not 1, .01) at the end of the gap and it gets smaller as it goes up, I also have a small gap between my bottom middle teeth. The rest of my teeth are straight and I don't think I have an overbite and definitely not an underbite! I'm 16. My wisdom teeth Haven't come yet and I have a few fillings but never got a tooth pulled. How long do you think I will need braces, and how long for a retainer before I get the braces? Please let me no if you have had braces before and how it went for you, how long, what your teeth were like and if you think they are worth getting, thanks :) x

I'm not sure how long for, but I don't believe it will be nearly as long or as costly as those who need braces because of overcrowding. My orthodontist talked to me a little bit about how it is easier to fix gaped teeth because all that needs to happen is for them to be pulled together.

I'm quite jealous. I have a severely crowded mouth, to the point where most of my front teeth are crooked/turned.

I think that retainers come after the braces, no?

Research a bit and find cases similar to yours and how long they needed to wear braces for.

Only your orthodontist could give you an exact period, how long you will have to wear your braces.

One of my sisters had to wear hers for like 4 years and she was 14 when she got em, but now she has a great smile.

In the end getting the braces is a good investment in yourself for the rest of your life. So stop worrying about the now aspect and just get em, and yes they are expensive, but so are many wise investments.

I had to wear mine for like 18 months or 2 years, I forget. It seemed like a long time.

It was a very long time ago. It could have been a year, year and a half instead of the year and a half/ two years I said.
