First of all, I think you need to understand that muscle weighs more than fat - so in reality, working out will help you lose inches, but you can actually put on weight. Especially if you are just marginally "overweight". For example - before I started working out I weighed 115 lbs. I did cardio to burn fat and got down to 100 lbs, but when I added weights to my workout to build muscle tone - I ended up back to 115 lbs. So I don't think you need to focus on your actual weight, just the inches extra fat can add to your body.
As for your dietary supplement - there are plenty of people who take supplements that work out. (But I've never heard of a pill that makes you WANT to work out - that is a powerful supplement in my opinion, lol) I've never trusted them myself, only because it is not regulated by the FDA so what is actually in them isn't proven by a regulatory agency. Even if it is prescribed by your doctor - who can at times be glorified pimps to pharmaceutical companies -- it doesn't guarantee their effectiveness or safeness.
I don't think you're crazy, I think you are just trying to lose weight. I don't think the pills should be used long term, you can eventually "train" yourself to have good eating habits.
Your mom is just worried - look at all the poor girls starving themselves to death so they can look good. She is probably imagining the worst for you, I mean she is your mom. It's in her job description to worry.
Good luck!

If this was my daughter yea I would say she was nut's to. I don;t think that is a good way to lise weight, and once you do when you stop takeing it who know's it might come back. Do it the normal heathly way, eatting heathly, drinking water, and work out. Not some pill.
If you want to lose weight, do it the healthy way. Eat healthier foods and work out more. Don't starve yourself, and don't turn to magical herbal remedies or appetite suppressants. They don't work. Only discipline and effort will get you there in a healthy way.
(And when kind of doctor prescribes unregulated herbal supplements? What kind of herbs are we talking about here?)
Your mom is worried about you for a reason. Too many teens and young women hurt themselves trying to achieve unrealistic weight loss goals. She might be going overboard (can't really tell just from your nondetailed descriptions of her reaction), but she has a very legitimate reason to be concerned.
The pills bla bla bla bla. . . .
Eat healthy and exercise enough.
That's the secret of all and everything.
I don't understand why people go for all kind of alternatives for loosing weight when you can just work out.

your mom is benig crazy. everyone needs a boost in energy so its ok. but really, you shouldn't have to take pills to boost your energy. if you had a motivatior then the pills would be useless. if you truly want to lose weight then you should get up and move but not at the expense of pills.
Same here. My mom is like that sometimes, but w/e. I just focus on myself. I took some natural stuff too a few monthes ago and it was alright. I work out a lot as well and I'm not anorexic lol. It does feel good to be fit and have a healthy weight. Don't sweat it, I think your mom is a little too sensitive, maybe she's stressed. I mean, if you are a little overweight, you can get rid of it easily with diet and exercise. That's what I did. No, you're not crazy, take care ^_^
no they don't get it. as long as the physicain is involved then ur good, make sure that she knows everything about you as ur taking them and make sure you exersice right and don't over do it. good luck.
For a mother she just might be worried just re-assure her that your ok with it your not gonna go anorexic and just talk to her a little more so she'll be okay with it. Good luck! :)
if you're barely overweight, don't take it too personally. she could be stressed out.
ignore her
