I often do my own research on the rumors/recalls/facts that are released for example I did know that there was trace levels of arsenic in apple juice it is also in peach juice apricot juice and several other fruit juices the reason for this is the way the juice is processed in MOST cases the WHOLE fruit is cooked then pressed to release the juice this includes the seeds and many fruits that have seeds contain arsenic in those seeds. the FDA is no more likely to tell us about these kinds of things if they have determined that it is safe for human consumption than they are about the foods that are being genetically altered using the salmonella virus in order to make them resistant round up brand weed killer OR that they are experimenting with a "suicide gene" for those same plants that will prevent the plants from producing viable seeds that the farmers can use the next year rather than pay more money for more seeds. link my advice to you is do your own research find out about the process used by your favorite brands when they are creating the foods you enjoy then find out if that process allows for chemicals or Bactria that you do not feel safe eating if it does stop eating if not then you have been informed and made your OWN decision on what is best for you and your family.
did anyone see the heated debate this morning on GMA? I can't belive that, it was crazy. but in America, I think people down-say what could really happen if we consume something. its all about the money when it comes to the U.S. and if things mcdonalds, prescription drugs, or even apple juice is making money even though it can kill us in the long run, those millionaires will try to cover up the whole thing like it's not true. like the whole high fructose corn syrup deal. why were scientists saying a couple years ago that it causes cancer, diabetes, and other things and now we have commercials airing saying its all the same if it doesn't cause those problems? because its a cheaper way to make consumables sweet and there's more in abundance so the person selling gets the upperhand and the consumer pays the price. go doc. Oz for getting the truth out that something as little as applejuice could be hurting our future generations in the long run.
Panic in the streets! Omg! Next thing you know, Oz will be telling us that our food is radioactive. Oh wait. It is. Who cares? Apples have traces of arsenic; again, who cares? Common knowledge, to those in the know. xD The rest of the herd (you know, the type that watches Oprah and her ilk) continue to be shocked by the realization that things produced on earth contain trace amounts of things that you find on the earth. Everything around you is radioactive. You are. Your food is. Your house is. You're breathing in impurities, not just "pure air", whatever the hell that is. You're drinking in impurities, not just "pure water". Your body is covered in bacteria, some helpful and some harmful. I use these examples, radiation in particular, because they are facts overlooked by most consumers. They hear "radiation", panic and run to the doctor to get a CT scan. They hear "arsenic" and stop drinking apple juice, choosing instead to use untested, blatantly fraudulent homeopathic remedies, most of which can't even serve as potpourri much less as medicine.

No it does not because most of this kind of stuff is like diet coke where it is stated that it will give you cancer, and it will, if you drink your body weight in it everyday for 15 years. That is how a lot of this kind of stuff works. How do TV shows like Dr.Oz stay on? Ratings that is how, he has to get people to watch in order to keep making money and what better way then state that you baby is endanger and he has the answer on his show. Lip stick contains pig fat and a lot of other products will surprise you. Also Arsenic is a naturally occurring mineral so natural and organic foods is where you are going to find it.

i do believe however there are a TON of things VERY VERY VERY messed up in the FDA
look how many people have diabetes...when I was younger, diagnosed at 5, I was like 1 in 1,000 kids who had it...now its like 1 in 20...its CRAZY ( I have type 1 btw)
cancer is everywhere and if you don't get it in your lifetime you'll be one of the few...
new disease here new disease there...somehow I think it has a lot to do with all this crap they put to "conserve" our food or make it last longer...but hey that's just me...

A lot of stuff has arsenic in it even the water you drink has arsenic in it. All that is important is that the levels are under the limits of detection ( although that doesn't always mean it is safe but that there is no better method ). Every so often a better method for detecting arsenic and other levels are found and that makes the old levels appear above the old limit of detection and so everyone starts to freak out because you think that you are drinking more arsenic but you really aren't. In chemistry you can never say that a substance does not exist in a solution, all you can say is that it is under the limits of detection. So drinking apple juice with a little arsenic isn't going to harm you because you have probably been drinking it all along.

All Dr. Oz is is a big ass advertisement. He tells people "Oh tart cherry juice is really good for you and you should drink because it has all these health properties." then people go on a buying spree to buy whatever product he recommends using. Companies make huge profits off of Oz and I wouldn't be surprised if companies pay the studios he's associated with to promote certain products
There are trace levels of arsenic in the seeds of apples (and a few other common fruits). This is an established fact and has been around for a while, there is no "rumor". I'd like a reference to where the FDA denies this.
In any event, the concentration of arsenic in these locations is negligible. You would have to eat hundreds, if not, thousands, of raw seeds for it to have any effect.
Apple juice manufacturers are panicking right now, as they have no faith in humanity to rationalize. Mobs will now avoid apple juice like the plague! Of course, the cynical depressed ones will buy apple juice by the truckload, hoping that this would be a less painful way to end it all. Oh humanity!
People have been drinking apple juice for a long time. If something was legimately dangerous about it I think it would have been brought to light a long time ago. People just eat it up whenever someone says something is dangerous/bad for your health. It catches your attention and makes you want to watch. Just look at the news.
Apple SEEDS have traces of arsenic. So of course in producing apple juice, if some seeds get in there, there will be traces of arsenic. Not high enough levels to be truly dangerous, unless you drink NOTHING but apple juice and it builds up in your system.
Doctors, pharmacists, and stores all work together. It's like a triangle. If one must lie (in this case FDA) in order to protect store production, then this is what ends up happening. Apple juice is the first in a very long list. That's our system for ya -___-
I will won't be drinking any more apple juice. I had some on Sunday afternoon, and got very sick that night. So did another person in the family, who had the apple juice.
We went back to the store yesterday to find the juice we bought, but they removed it from the shelves.
i'd have to say BULLSHIT. unless a legitimate research group composed of CERTIFIED scientists and/or doctors, don't listen to the hype. media "doctors" and "experts" have been preying on the fears of people ever since mass media. don't fall for the hype just because "Dr" Oz or Oprah or the cast of Jersey Shore say it to be true
The FDA approves tons and tons of harmful products for consumers. It's really nothing new. Look at aspartame and all the chemicals in processed foods.
That's why you do your best to stay aware so you can make informed choices. It's pretty sad that the government can control what goes into our bodies to an extent. That's why I buy organic fruits and vegetables and spray them to remove fertilizer remnants, organic eggs, etc.
Ha never cared about news buzz like this. I've always just done things. I think all the people that stress themselves up the walls about lead paint and arsenic juice are negatively affecting their health with all the worry.
I don't put much faith in what Dr. Oz says he does teeny tiny studies to get the results so that he something to put on his TV show. Apple seeds do contain arsenic and some probably gets into the juice but the amount would be so low that it would not even but an issue. Poisons are all around including arsenic even in the air that you breath. Until I see a real large based study on something I don't even worry about it.

who cares?! it hasn't killed us yet so what the big deal? there are worse things in life to worry about that if there's some stuff in apple juice. not that big of deal

Sorry to be a downer, but that's something that a lot of people don't know and really should care about it. Arsenic is in regular old apples. It's a very miniscule amount, nothing to worry about. So it would obviously be in apple juice.
back in the day people used to drink radium in drinks and it was advertised to give them rosy cheeks. Makes me wonder what we're drinking now in something that later on we will find out was poison.
