Go to a doctor, if you're told you can play then are you, while injured, the best option for the team? If you are then play as long as the doctor says OK, otherwise sit out till you heal up a bit so you don't hurt the team (although I feel that the coach should sit you if you're hurting the team anyways), it's all about if you're up to it health-wise and if it helps the team pick up the W.

Sit out until the doc clears you. If you keep playing on an injury it won't heal and more injuries will be created due to the fact you don't move normally.
Go see the doc. If you have access to an athletic trainer, go see them, too. You shouldn't be playing and should be working on resting, regardless of who you go see. So, both, really.
It sounds like you possibly strained something.
