I want to be a plus size model but friends don't approve?

Hi everyone I'm kind of new here. I have wanted to be a model since I was about 15 but I always heard people make fun of me cause I didn't look really thin, I'm 24 and I think this is my last chance to try it before nobody will let me try it cause I will be to old. I am "5'7" 164lbs. My friends tell me I shouldn't do it because I am just going to embarrass myself and then I am going to get hurt. I don't know what to do? I have to make a decision really quick though?

There are Tons of Plus size Models and P*rn stars out there that look great!

The key is to have all your curves in the right places. Even if you are larger then most of todays thin woman if its all in the right place then you will look great. Keep it toned by working out and stuff and you will look great.

So it is possible. just Tone up. You can be in shape and be extremely sexy without having be to a 90 pound skinny stick. Work on your best features and have fun. it is not easy but its possible.

I for one Like dealing with plus size/ average woman more then the overly fake skinny ones anyway. they always have more personalty to them.

Sorry to burst your bubble but plus size models are normal size girls, you are slightly obese. You have a great face and eye features but in my opinion you need to lose a bit of weight. Check with a nutritionist and exercise coach if you are serious about trying to become in shape.

oh and my source? I have a friend who makes +2 grands a shoot as a plus size model. She is not super thin but just normal, and a bit stronger than most women since she does martial arts.

I think they are all just jealous that you could possibly become really successful. Don't let them tell you what you can and cannot do. You want to do this, so go for it. If you fail, it is only you who fails, and if you succeed, well you will be living your dream. But either way, at least you gave it a shot. Don't deny yourself a chance at your dream just because your friends do not approve. IF they were your true friends, they would support you no matter what.

I would just start going for your dream. Get some pictures done for your portfolio and start applying for jobs, get modelling coaching if you need to. Do what needs to be done to make this a reality :)

When I was going to college, I had friends laugh at me. They would criticize me and say that I couldn't do it because I couldn't live on my own. Meanwhile these people mooch of their parents, and I was holding down a full-time job, which they turned their noses down on too because they would never work there. Well they are still living at home, while I am in my final year of my studies. And I have tonnes of networking events. So follow your dreams despite what others say, only happiness matters :)

i think if its something that youve been wanting to do for a long time, you shouldn't worry abotu what other people think. Do it girl! You can do anything you want to do if you put your mind to it. If you don't try it, you will have regret for the rest of your life.

Your friends can tell you no all they want, but only you can satisfy your dreams. You will never be satisfied if you never try. It wouldn't make sense for you not to give yourself a chance at doing what you've been wanting to do. Life comes at you fast, they're are only so many dreams we can accomplish, but do yourself that favor and give yourself a chance to at least attempt it. Goodluck.

Newsflash, but anyone can make business cards and have a "studio." Yes, have someone go with you. Everyone and their dog is a "photographer" anymore and I've heard of some weeird stuff when a guy randomly approaches a girl to take pics of. So yeah, for safety sake, bring a friend.
