Ok girls....i need your help...

so I went to the doctor last Friday and they took a urine sample. now this morning I got a call saying that they needed to see me asap today. they want to take another urine sample due to the fact that they found bacteria and a high white blood cell count...i asked my doc if she could give me an idea on what it might be and she told me that she can talk to me when I get to the office. so I guess what I'm asking is what do you think it could possibly be?

Definitely is an infection that could have come from anywhere honestly. You could have had a deep enough cut and got some bad mush mush in there or ate something contaminated etc etc -

My guess is they're going to be running some more tests to figure out what's up and then fill you up with anti - biotics.

Bacteria in the urine - I wonder about that because either (hopefully,) you have the bacteria in a localized area in some part of your excretory system - or the bacteria is traveling in your blood ( not so good,) and your kidneys are filtering it into your urine?

Idk hopefully it's just localized - but I'm sure if it was traveling about your blood you'd be feeling pretty sick. I think that's called being septic or something like that in which your body is overwhelmed with infection and prone to septic shock.

But if your up and healthy - I'm guessing it's probably just an area in your excre system that's infected.

If you have symptoms like fevers, sweating, just overall feeling sick - the infection is probably a tad more serious.

Could be a yeast infection - I think those are detected in urine but you'd notice other things like odd discharge, maybe a smell, your nookie just feeling uncomfortable / itchy / gross.

Good luck at the docs. I just got over a bacteria infection, knee surgery, and tons of blood / urine test.

def not a yeast infection lol my bfs mom and I were talking about it and she said it might just be a urinary tract infection but she's not a doctor so she could be wrong...thanks :)

No prob ^^ I was thinking maybe a UTI too but usually those come with burning, sensitivity, and uncomfortableness (yes that is a word now :P) down there.

Unless you just got it and it's not advanced to that stage yet but I don't know - the doctors will fix you.

Or horribly mutate you.

But we'll hope for the first scenario :P

Sounds like an infection. The only reason why there would be so many white blood cells is because your body is producing them to fight off something.

Something in your urine sample wasn't correct and your doctor contacted you to get a new test. They won't give you a proper answer until the second samples confirms it.

Don't stress too much. It might be something that anti biotics can fight off.

Most likely is an infection of some kind. There are much less likely causes, such as leukemia, but there are further tests involved to rule out all kinds of things. Obviously bacteria makes it seem even less likely that leukemia could be the culprit.

So for now, try to keep yourself calm and assume they simply want to treat you for the infection as soon as possible. When I was 22, I had a couple things happen and let it get the best of me until I was convinced for like three days that I was dying of testicular cancer (which I never had). I let my own thoughts run out of control and became paranoid and anxious. However, this was completely crazy.

It's good that they are seeing you right away and you can put it to rest asap. I hope it turns out for the best. Good luck.

Happened to me a few years ago. It's probably a urinary tract infection (mine was), but they also gave me a test for Chlamydia and Syphillis.

The awesome thing is the pain goes away within 12 hours of taking the first antibiotic.

It can be a lot of things. An infection from a cut or other things getting in the wrong area, an STD, etc. It sounds like they aren't completely sure since they want to do more tests. They'll probably put you on antibiotics until it clears up and they'll keep monitoring it.

Does it hurt when you pee? Was there blood in your urine? Did you get the urge to have to go, but when you tried nothing came out?

These are signs of a UTI, or urinary tract infection. But I'm not a dr, just a guess

ive been through things in life that not many girls my age have gone through. I've been tested for STDs 3 times due to sexual assault and rape...so I know its not an STD...
