Do you watch the Olympics? AND How would you feel if it was no more?

I had a dream that the Olympics stopped completely and people were happy about it except me lol. I was throwing a fit cause I'm a history major and the olympics are very much a big part of history.

Anyways do you watch it when it comes on? And how would you feel if there was no more olympics?

I watched the opening ceremony at Beijing 4 years back, but otherwise I didn't watch too much of it. I got a giggle out of Race Walking...yes, it's an Olympic event. link

Michael Phelps? Never watched him. I did watch the diving events where an Australian guy came back on the last dive and stole the lead from a Chinese diver. Shit was crazy son. But otherwise I just watched random events here and there.

If it were no more, I'm not sure I'd care all that much to be honest.

I love watching the Olympics. It's pretty much the only sporting event I actually follow.

I would think it unfortunate, but since they only occur every two years for a rather short amount of time I'm not sure I would even notice.

I would feel sad and worried, because it's probably the only event that brings so many countries together. There's the World Cup, but even there, it's only one sport and some countries. The olympics attract so much attention from all around the world, and I think it would be a pity to lose that sense of human effort and global emotion.

If they ended I'd be a little disappointed for the same reasons as you - it's a tradition that was introduced millenia ago and it would be sad to end that.

I can't stand watching the Olympics (not really into sports) but I do occasionally keep track of how many medals Canada wins. if it stopped it would most likely not effect my life directly but I would be a bit worried wondering why it stopped and if it was a sign of the apocalypse.

Yeah I watch the Olympics. My favorite is the equestrian of course. This year they're adding western riding so it'll be fun to watch that one as well as the eventing, jumping, and dressage.

I'd feel kinda sad if the olympics were canceled but it's not that huge of a deal

Its the only sporting event I'll watch on TV. And I watch it religiously for the few short weeks its on.

I'd be quite upset if they were ever disbanded. I love its historical context, and how it covers so many sports and cultures.

I love the Olympics. When watching it I get this proud to be an American feeling. Its nice to watch something every once and a while that is sports related and everyone that your watching it with is rooting for the same team.

I do watch them .. from start to end! I ll be highly disappointed if they stopped it .. I even wanna ask them to make it every year .. instead of every 4 years! .. I don't know who is "them" though :D .. maybe they're reading this now .. lol

Well I'm a coach of regional competitiors.. Though we're looking at the 2016 Olympics for one of our girls and the 2020 Olympics for one of the girls that I teach.

So yeah, I'd be pretty upset if it got cancelled!

Huge sports fan and I love the Olympics. I'm very patriotic lol. I would be very sad it there was no Olympics. I love watching them.
