If you had more time to deal with it, I would say peroxide soap. You could still try this, as it's good for the skin if you have breakouts, but it may feel that it's making it worse. It forces all the gunk to come to the top so it can get outta there! Really, if you're dating someone who you think really likes you, they are not going to refuse you a second date just because your face doesn't look perfect ^_^ If you are super self-conscience, try using a TON of foundation for sensitive skin, however.. soon after the date, even if you wash every last ounce of it off your face, that foundation will clog your pores! So be careful xD
Not to discredit the toothpaste idea cause I know it can work for some people. I tried this in college and it caused a severe reaction which landed me in the dermatologists office. I'm not sure I would chance it right before a date. I have extremely sensitive skin & have found herbal remedies like lavender or tea tree essential oil combined with a facial wash with salicylic acid works best for me. I've also had really good results with Zeno. Helps with the pain too.
Remember that to you it might look like you have the washington monument on your face, but to him he will probably hardly notice it. Good luck!
I think you should leave it alone. If you pick at it - you don't want it looking bloody for your date. And there's not much you can do on short notice. If I were you I'd put some soap on it, and keep it there - don't wash it off. Let it dry out a little.
You could put some creams on it, make sure to wash your face thoroughly, and also change your bed sheets so they're fresh.

you need acne cream products like ProActive or egyptian magic cream. and don't eat greasy food as much.
put some toothpaste on it. and leave it there to dry. When I have gross pimples, I do that and it dries them up pretty good. But try not to keep agitating it because itll take longer for it to go away
Touth paste should help dry it out
Make up for now maybe wear your hair down
