How do I promote my consulting business?

I am 24 and I am an engineer (wood frame house constructor).

During my career, I built 9 houses. I pay much attention on the details and I like to do my work the proper way!

I'd like to develop this business. I was thinking of advertising on the internet but if I did it on the wrong place/ webpage, than most people looking for this king of offer, would/ might miss my announcement.

Where should I promote my consulting business with good chances? Although I can't afford pricey ads yet.

Any ideas are welcome!

Also I live in Romania (but I am Hungarian) and I was thinking of finding this kind of work in Florida. Would there be any possible ways? (The first question is my main, more important)

Arizona is starting to pick up a lot in new home construction.

Besides what has been suggested by kambo, sometimes you have to start at the bottom & work your way up.

Contact "custom home" builders with your resume'. Regular builders need maybe only 6-8 floor plans & they sell only those homes until they sell out (1-3 yrs) You can contact them to submit ideas for future projects.

One of the best ways to promote your business is to make some promotional products for it. For example, some pens, flash drives, etc. I like to use custom lapel pins for my business I get from

I suggest to ask the professionals. I think link building is the best option to generate your website traffic and get more visitors. And it is not equal to spamming actually. You can create a Facebook page about your construction. Post photos of your work then send friend request to everyone.

Try Youtube as well, some small, quick videos might show to interested parties you really know what you are doing
