That moment lasted for about 20 minutes and I never felt it again. How about you guys?
What was your first cigarette like?

Very bad!!
"1st" Cigarette:
I was about 4 years old when I found my eldest sisters pack of Marlboro's and hid behind the couch. I tried firing it up but the lighter was about out of fluid. The only issue with my plan was that I had to move the couch away from the wall in order to hide. There's nothing suspicious about that. My sister found me and tore. my. ass. UP!
2nd cigarette (Successful attempt):
Me and my two friends stole their grandma's cigarettes and went to a secluded area. We each lit up a cigarette, we thought we were cool like the guys we seen in the movies. I remembered the Terminator scene where a guy put out a cigar on Arnold's face and that it was cool, so I said "Hey Aaron, Tony. Check 'THIS' out", I opened up my palm and attempted to put out the cigarette in my hand. I SCREAMED and cried, it was nothing like Terminator 2, I thought to myself. Still have the scar til this day.
I thought I could tough it out like the Terminator
Yeah I have two of those scars in my stomach and leg. That was a dumb drunk afternoon..
Thanks for MH!
Thanks man will do, much appreciated.
I was 16 and my parents were out of town. Had a few friends over and we were drinking. It was actually my first time drunk too. We were cooling of outside, just came out of our sauna and I was offered a cigarette. I thought I could might as well try. I coughed, it burned a bit, but it was good. Got a nice relaxing high from it, just a feeling of stress leaving the body for a little while. Still love that feeling today.
Long story short I still smoke every now and then. Never had the urge to smoke actively every day though. I just smoke when I feel like it.
Thank you! Unfortunately not everyone can do it like me, the addiction is really strong with nicotine. I have so many friends to whom it can only be all or nothing with smoking.
I don't like cigarettes. Always hated them, even though both my parents smoked when I was growing up, so you'd think I'd get used to the smell, but nope.
I've been told that people, who are addicted to them, crave it like mad and they don't get that rush you get when you try it for the first few times.
I smoke a cigarette maybe once or twice a month when I'm out partying and it always gives me a rush. That's the perk of not being addicted to it, I suppose. Every time feels like it's the first time.
I have never smoked nor will I ever do so, but it's interesting to read other people's experiences with smoking. It gives insight as to why some people got hooked or why they never touched another cigarette. My parents would be pretty disappointed if I took up smoking.
i got very dizzy and almost like a high it was cool. i was 16, smoked till 25 on and off, and now i haven't for 2 years, i still crave it though never goes away, when i get stressed out i have to have willpower.
why?
it goes down wayy more than like when you smoke im just saying its always lurking there, yes it sucks, but we can never go back to before we smoked and never start. It is truly amazing how addictive nicotine is... it really does feel good to stop though i feel a lot healthier.
wow the body just doesn't forget
oh I've gone many days without a craving probably a coupe months or so sometimes a few it just always comes back at times for me.

Never smoked. I hate it to be honest.
Used to go over to my friend John's house when I was a kid, his mom was a chain smoker. Like one cigarette every 15 minutes level of chain smoking.
Used to come home with smoke stained clothes and a massive headache. It put me off smoking permanently pretty much.
Probably right. She died 15 years ago of Lung Cancer.
My parents both smoked when I was a child, so being curious and about 10 years old I wanted to know why they couldn't stop, even after I threw their cigarettes away multiple times because I didn't like the smell. So I waited until I was alone and tried a few puffs and rarely have tasted something so disgusting in my life. Needless to say I never smoked and never will.
To young to remember. I was around 8. But when I started smoking at 17, it would give me a headtush, kinda like being dizzy. Had a weird taste that's hard to describe. Every time I've ever quit it's the longing for that first taste that brings me back. A week or two without and that taste returns.
I've never smoked a cigarette, but I smoked a Cuban when I was sixteen. It was pretty damn strong I'll tell you!
It was pretty nasty. i remember it tasting like an ashtray or how am ashtray would taste. I then continued to smoke for the next 13 years though and have been quit for almost 8 now.
When I was 20, I had one a friend gave me, was stressed out and decided to try it. I enjoyed it for 2 minutes, then I hated it and don't ever plan on doing it anymore. The smell now makes me sick.
I haven't tried one yet. I did a great deal of research on the "least harmful" brands but didn't really make much headway. Which brand do you recommend?
Marlboro or Sterling
Well if you want least harmful go with the all natural cigarettes. American Spirits. Though I have tried them and hate them. Its a hard habit to kick honestly. If you want to smoke, pick up an ecig, its supposed to be better for you. But there isn't enough research to say one way or the other.
My first was 18 years ago. Hard to intake without having a coughing fit, but after a couple more draws, I was good to go.
18 years on, I'm smoke free.
My first was about a year ago and I choked on it and it was disgusting! Then I started doing it more often and now everytime I have one I get the same feeling that you had on your first :D
You sure that wasn't a joint? Hahaha. Because my 1st cigarette was awful: a burning sensation in all my airway and a fit of cough were the exilarating effects I experienced XD
Also... How are you this fine day? Hope the weather in Toronto is pleasnt :)
Pleasant*
Good to know. Are you a smoker? As a med student I dont exactly recommend, but anyways to everyone their choice...
Which brand? Just curious
hahaha. Fair enough. may i ask what makes that brand so addictive?
My first cigarette was bad, coughing, dizzy and I just smoked cautiously. Only after the third cigarette could I inhale and slowly enjoy the smoke, it was fantastic.
Fun to hold. I was 6. First time inhaled I was 10. Still fun to hold but smelt better than tasted and I was frustrated bc I couldn't do Rings.
It was awesome.
Now I only smoke socially or when on vacation somewhere pretty.
Horrible and it resulted me in being a social smoker for 3 years and 8 months. Thankfully I quit two years ago and I haven't looked back.
When i had my first it felt weird i started to cough and stuff but then i kind of got used to it :)
It gave me a sore throat and a headache and left my mouth tasting like ash.
I know, but that's why I stopped, didn't want to become hooked.
I took one puff & coughed when I was 14. Didn't smoke anymore cigarettes until I was about 18 or 19.
Yeah I did a lot of stuff way too early lol
when i was 16,... well it tasted just ok but kinda yuky but over all it just gave me a head ache... lol
ok i want aware of that, thanks,...
yeah i never think to deep about it,...
haha...:)
Relieves a bit of stress, kind of miss em but knew people who died from it so use alternatives now.
I have smoked only one full cigarette in my life. I detested the experience.
I take a puff or two here and there. Also, I smoke joint quite frequently. Just not cigarettes.
I adore the idea of smoking a cigarette. The uncanny style cigarette smoking possesses is deeply embedded in my mind; also the melancholy appeal it oozes.
That may be due to your addiction to nicotine.
I see.
