What does it mean when my crush's friends joke about us dating when he's not here

I was hanging out with with my brother's friends last night(my brother is 6 years older than me). I liked one of his friends for a few years but he was deployed to Afghanistan 6 months ago. I somewhat told him I liked him and have been in close contact through letters and fb. So last night I was with the guys and all of the sudden they started making couples jokes about me and him... These jokes haven't come out until last night and one in March. Do you think they just know I like him or does it mean they could actually see us as a couple?

They're just teasing you! Unfortunately they do know you like him which isn't a shocker given the attention you're giving him. I think it's cute and if you guys do have a lot in common then I'd say wait until it's okay to date but your brother's friends are just teasing you like a bunch of little kids.
