Well its not nearly as easy as it use to be. You're going into an already super saturated market. Adsense doesn't even pay as much as it did before, so you need even more subscribers to make a lot from it. Now one tip I'll give you is that you should scrap the idea of doing tutorials on everything. You really need to develop a niche/target audience. Maybe you want to do tutorials on one "thing" (ex. make up tutorials...though I wouldn't suggest make-up in particular because there are hundreds of those on YouTube). Finding that untapped niche that will get you the views is hard without doing crazy ass stuff in your videos to try and get a shock factor.
As a girl though, you do have an advantage over guys with this. Just because you're a girl, you'll get subscribers, especially if you put your face in your videos (make sure you look as best as you can). If not, you can also do commentary on things, as your voice really would be the next best thing. I kid you not, I've seen some women who made channels and got an easy 100 subscribers for doing very little (ofc, they got a lot of creepy comments, but heh ^_^). I think one of the better ideas would be to do voice/video commentary on some of the newer games that are coming out. If you did one on say, battlefield 4 for example, you would draw in all those 18 - 24 year olds searching it up on google (there are thousands, trust me) + the added fact that you're a girl will probably get them to subscribe, even if your commentaries suck lol. As long as what you say is entertaining, you could do well honestly. Anyways, that's the best I've got for now

Can you make money? Yes? Is it *easy* to make money? No.
The first thing you need to do to make money is to create ORIGINAL, interesting content. By original, that means, you use no copyrighted or trademarked images, music, video, logos, etc. unless you have permission or unless it falls under Fair Use (do some research on Fair Use).
The second thing you need to do is to be CONSISTENT. That means if you make one or two videos a week, you need to do that EVERY WEEK and release them at around the same time. They should have a similar look and feel, so that you are building on the same brand image with every new release.
The third thing you need to do is to PROMOTE your channel, and get people to subscribe. That means using social media, doing tie-ins with other people/channels, and anything else you can do to get views.
The fourth thing is to set up an AdSense account, which will then start letting you get paid. Generally, you'll need some traffic BEFORE you can get that going, because they don't want to waste time setting up an account for someone with no track record of success.
Generally, the more professional your videos, the better, but content is still king. At the end of the day, you have to either educate or entertain, or both, and do that in an interesting way, or people just won't be interested.

Be warn, you will get hit on by creeps and pervets and jackasses and sh*t,lol. Good luck and also, depending on what you do. pay attention, because if you don't do it right or proffessionaly your going to get a lot of hate and esepically for a girl. So watch out for the comments and messages and crap.
Lastly, enjoy the laughs on the comments to esepically if there kinda of funny but something harsh.
so be aware as a warning, don't take anything offensive on what they say it can get ugly if your not careful.
i never done this sh*t before, but just be careful.Youtube will offer "monetization" after you've attracted enough viewers. The thing is that it's complicated beyond belief and there's so much copyright infringement issues due to needing to "own the original content." So depending on what your videos are about, you'll need to make sure you own all the original content. For example, if your channel is about music. If you even cover a song that's out, the original makers of the song will opt to take it down and give your channel a "copyright strike" if they catch you.
Youtube offered me monetization when I uploaded video game playthroughs but I never opted for them because I purchased the video games, but I don't own the rights to them. I have a crapload of content ID matches that YouTube picked up on but they let them stay up.You get like a nickel for every subscriber and a penny for every channel view. The only way you will make money is if you make the tutorials really entertaining/funny as well as super informative, in an original way. Don't come across like a Jenna Marbles knockoff. It is a really slim chance to make any sort of substantial money I'd say.
As an example, the guys behind Epic Rap Battles make around 100K a year, and their videos have at least 30 million views each. They make maybe a dozen or more videos a year.As someone who has a channel that makes money, unless you are drawing enough attention that you are getting sponsored by outside groups or paid by google, you are going to be making pennies for many hours of work. Don't go into it for the money, do it because its what you like to do.
your videos have to draw views. if it draws views (significant numbers) people will want to place ads
Get a lot of hits on videos (that is your own content). It's that simple.
You have to be able to attract a whole lot of viewers then people will want to put their ads before your videos.
