Me and my boyfriend have been together for a year and a half and we decided we want to have sex but we've heard in sex ed that sex can ruin a relationship and we don't want to ruin ours. Will it ruin our relationship even if we care deeply about eachother and know eachother better then anyone else?

My high school boyfriend and I started having sex a month into our relationship. We had lots and lots of sex. We were together from age 15 to age 21. Sex didn't have a negative impact on our relationship, it was a very positive thing for us.

Is it possible that sex could ruin a relationship? Well, I guess so. You could find out that your partner desires sex more than you do, or vice versa. You could find out that your partner is a selfish lover. You could find out that you don't enjoy sex with your partner. Maybe the two of you are bad at communicating and end up getting in a fight over sex. Who knows.

It very well can. It can cause awkwardness and can change how you view the relationship.

I don't think so. In my opinion if you really love each other I think that sex can make it get better, not worse.
