Doesn't want to rush into things?

Hey everybody. So, I've been talking to this girl for about 5 months now. We get along really well, and I like her a lot. Today, I decided to ask her out. She told me that when we first started talking, she had just gotten out of a long relationship that ended badly. She told me that she did want to rush into another relationship too soon, and that although she likes me, she isn't ready to be my girlfriend. However, she said that she wants to keep talking. Should I keep talking to her or just leave it alone?

As so much as I want to say wait. There are 2 sides or outcomes of this story. Either she really likes you and later after waiting she will become your girlfriend when she is ready is one result. The other is that either she doesn't want to hurt you is gently blowing you off and that you haven't been giving her passion and support so she is gonna continue shrugging you along for support till she finds somebody who can give her both passion and support is the another outcome. You haven't mentioned how long you known her and wether ull have been on dates. Make no mistake if she sees you as just a friend better get away because it will onli end in more heartbreaks.

I agree, but considering it's been over 5 months since her last relationship I'm leaning toward she's letting you down gently. Girls tend to heal from breakups fairly fast so unless it was a really long or really deep relationship, she's probably just being nice.

Well, I've actually known her for about 5 years. I met her a while ago, but we just recently started talking seriously. We've actually only been on two dates. She's from my hometown, and I'm currently in school. So, I see her during the breaks. However, I'm graduating and coming back home in May. That's why I was wondering if I should keep talking to her in the hopes that she'll be ready by the time I move back home, or if I should just forget about it and move on.

Oh yea, and her last relationship was 2.5 years and she told me that it ended badly. She said that the last year was bad, and she knew that she should have gotten out of the relationship, but was just used to having him around and didn't have the courage to break up with him.

Keep talking. Girls take longer to heal sometimes, if she wasn't interested then she would've said straight out no. She's interested but worried about getting hurt again, hang in there and be the man she's been waiting for. I'm sure shel reward you later ;)
