Stop animal cruelty

Hi everyone. This is my first take and i feel like sharing something that just happened to me and my cat, kitty.

I rescued a Kitty yesterday. She used to love in the streets and come to my other house everyday just to play with the securities and maids there. When I took her home she wasn't as playful as when I first met her. Because she used to live in the streets.

I made an appointment with the vet today. When I got there, I took her out of her cage and she wondered around the clinic until it was her time to get the check up. When the vet was cutting her nails she noticed a large bump on her tail (I thought this is just how her tail is like), and she found out that someone tied 2 rubber bands on her tail (one near her body and one on the end). She told me if I didn't bring her in today she would have to amputate her tail. I was shocked to find out there's someone whos cruel enough to do something like this.

The vet then snap the rubber bands off and clean it, put some sort of cream on it then she wrapped it with gauze and surgical tape. The vet also proscribed her with some antibiotics. She also has to wear collar so she doesn't lick her tail whick will make it longer for it to heal. Kitty is back home now and she's been sleeping all day and i only wake her up when its time for her to eat. I really hope she'll get better soon.

I know this is nothing compared to what happened in China where thousands of dogs are killed to be eaten, or animals who were beaten to death or those who were never been fed by their owners. But I saw this with my own eyes how it affects her, she's in so much pain and I didn't even know that until I brought her to the vet. I'm in tears while writing this and I rarely cry, what I saw today really breaks my heart.

So please, for those of you who knows or sees anyone doing this to animals stop them. It's not right to treat living creatures like that.

Aww she looks kind of like my cat <3. What I find saddest about cruelty to animals is how people get away with it. Torture a human and the cops arrest you and your ass goes to jail. But not enough people care about animal torture even though it has been proven that it is psychopathic behavior.

But that being said, it warms my heart when I hear about people helping these defenseless creatures and giving them a loving home. Mine was a rescue too and she has filled our lives with so much love and joy.

Yes i agree with people can get away really easily with torturing animals especially in my country. I live in a 3rd world country so prbbly thats also one of the reason why people here are not educated enough about the effects of torturing animals. Its really sad. My vet said that most of the people who enjoys doing it are from lower class so that def explains why.

I love cats, and it pisses me off to see people doing stupid things like this to them. Kids are usually the culprits. Glad to see she got the help she needed and she'll have a loving home to take care of her now. :)

I feel very grateful that found her. She just got back home from the vet and the vet said that kitty has to get her tail removed😢

Charles Darwin supposedly said that 'the love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man.'

Unfortunately, it would seem that by that metric, most societies aren't exactly all that noble. Animal cruelty is not only accepted, but supported and even at times encouraged amongst most cultures.

It's easy to be shocked at the ill treatment of animals that are seen as companions such as cats and dogs. But the value placed upon these specific species would seem rather arbitrary. Many other species seeming to possess similar degrees of intellect and emotional capacity are horribly abused simply because they aren't as cute or cuddly or as highly regarded. The animal agriculture industry would seem especially abhorrent, with travesties such as the treatment of male chicks in the egg industry (who as byproducts are generally disposed of, often in rather cruel manners).

It's not exactly surprising that when society itself holds a double standards with regards to the treatment of animals that even those we view as pets might find themselves abused. Tolstoy is quoted as saying that 'as long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields'. So too would it seem the case as long as animals are treated as a commodity the abuse of even those viewed as pets will continue.

yes, there are some very cruel people out there. the good thing about animals is they tend to bounce back quite easily. I'm sure your cat will be running around and playing as if nothing happened. give her some time :)

Its very sickening, they have no heart. I meant what has the animals did to deserve to be treated like that?

I hope she will. I can't want to see her being playful again. She wanted to check out the pool today but im afraid she'll jump inside the pool (shes not afraid of water, amazing isn't it?), so i really can't wait to swim with her hihi. Me too, im so glad i took in before it was too late

Kudos young Lady. You are correct , being cruel is to your fellow man is one thing , they are capable of defending themselves ( for the most part ) . But animals , whether it be a pet or a stray can not. They just want to be accepted and treated descently. For those sick individuals who get their demented kicks from abusing them , put yourself in their paws , would you feel ok it it was happening to you?

Unfortunately some people doesn't think that way😢 kitty just got back home from spending 6 days at the vet clinic and the vet told me she can't safe her tail so she'll have it removed in 2-3 weeks😢😢. I hope who ever did this to her gets their karma

Tell me about it. For the last two months that I've been following Peta on facebook, I've seen horrible things!! I've cried my heart out! I don't really have the money, or the ability to join a volunteer team in my area, but I try to spread the word and I definitely don't allow anyone to abuse animals, if I see them! And if when I get older make some money, I will definitely try and make and animal shelter!!

Of course I will. I have 6 pets myself. Anyone who treats them less than how they'd want to be treated are absolute shitheads. Its unfortunate that it happens but at least there are thing to place to help them and lessen the cruelty.

Unfortunately there are tons of people here who enjoys doing that to animals especially cats bc there are stray cats everywhere here.

Im thinking about gathering my cat lover friends here to educate people about abusing cats (this is my main concern bc cats are easy targets here). Hopefully they want to help me with this mission i have.

My cat doesn't kill those animals. She stays inside the house all the time

The lizards, small mammals and birds cats kill aren't tortured for fun. You don't see cats tying rubber bands on rats' tail just to see them suffer. Cats and other animals kill because they are hungry and need food to survive but humans are the only species that kill for fun and that is sick.
